  • Patent number: 11965753
Abstract: A system and method examine positional data signals onboard a vehicle to identify one or more variations in positioning data of the positional data signals. The system and method identify inaccurate positioning data in the positional data signals based on the one or more variations in the positioning data that are identified.

  • Publication number: 20220266810
Abstract: A sensor assembly includes a fastener body extending from a fastener end to an opposite sensor end along an elongation direction. The sensor end is shaped to be inserted into a sensor port of an air dryer. A sensor substrate includes one or more conductive bodies protruding from the sensor substrate and one or more first conductive pathways coupled with the one or more conductive bodies. The sensor assembly also includes a sensor coupled with the sensor substrate and conductively coupled with the one or more conductive bodies by the one or more first conductive pathways. The sensor is configured to sense a humidity of air flowing through the air dryer. The one or more conductive bodies of the sensor substrate are positioned to engage one or more arcuate or annular conductive pathways in the air dryer in different rotational positions of the fastener body relative to the air dryer.

  • Publication number: 20220007186
Abstract: A communication system includes a first communication device located onboard a first vehicle in a vehicle system formed from the first vehicle and at least a second vehicle, a second communication device located onboard the second vehicle in the vehicle system, and a first communication path extending between the first and second communication devices and established using a first communication medium. The first and second communication devices may share a security credential via the first communication path. The first and second communication devices also may establish a secure second communication path between the first and second communication devices using the security credential that is shared via the first communication path. The second communication path established by the first and second communication devices uses a different, second communication medium extending between the first and second communication devices.

  • Publication number: 20200139995
Abstract: A locomotive communication system includes a first communication device located onboard a first locomotive in a rail vehicle system formed from the first locomotive and at least a second vehicle in the rail vehicle system and a second communication device located onboard the second vehicle in the rail vehicle system, the first and second communication devices communicatively coupled with each other via a wired connection extending between the first and second communication devices. The first and second communication devices are configured to share a security credential via the wired connection. The first and second communication devices also are configured to establish a secure wireless network between the first and second communication devices using the security credential that is shared via the wired connection.

  • Patent number: 9813387
Abstract: A vehicle communication network security system) includes one or more processors configured to be disposed onboard a vehicle system traveling together along a route. The processors examine one or more characteristics of an incoming data signal received by the processors from a communication device disposed onboard the vehicle system. The processors determine whether the incoming data signal is a secure data signal or an insecure data signal based on the one or more characteristics, communicate the incoming data signal to one or more onboard systems of the vehicle system for use by the one or more onboard systems in controlling operation of the vehicle system responsive to determining that the incoming data signal is the secure data signal, and prevent the incoming data from being communicated to the one or more onboard systems responsive to determining that the incoming data signal is the insecure data signal.
