  • Publication number: 20230255753
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve including a valve housing configured to be positioned adjacent to a heart valve annulus, one or more flaps moveably coupled to the valve housing, a passage defined by an inner surface of at least one of the valve housing and the one or more flaps, wherein the passage is configured to facilitate blood flow therethrough along a longitudinal axis thereof, from an inflow side to an outflow side of the valve, one or more openings through the inner surface located such that at an open position of the heart valve, a portion of the blood flow flowing along the longitudinal axis of the passage is redirected from the passage through the one or more openings, wherein the direction of the redirected blood flow has a component that is normal to the longitudinal axis of the passage, thereby mitigating stagnation of the blood flow and thus mitigating a risk of blood clots formation.

  • Publication number: 20210236140
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for providing localized treatment at a target site in a blood vessel of a subject. The method includes (i) delivering to a vicinity of a target site in a blood vessel a water-immiscible fluid such as to displace blood from the vicinity of the target site, and (ii) administering an active agent to the target site, wherein the water-immiscible fluid and the active agent are mutually immiscible, or substantially mutually immiscible, so that the active agent is trapped by the water-immiscible fluid.

  • Patent number: 7496108
Abstract: A method for dynamic management of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) reassembly buffers in hardware (e.g., in a TCP/IP offload engine (TOE)). The method comprises: providing a plurality of data blocks and an indirect list; pointing, via entries in the indirect list, to allocated data blocks in the plurality of data blocks that currently store incoming data; if a free data block in the plurality of data blocks is required for the storage of incoming data, allocating the free data block for storing incoming data; and, if an allocated data block in the plurality of data blocks is no longer needed for storing incoming data, deallocating the allocated data block such that the deallocated data block becomes a free data block.

  • Patent number: 6225924
Abstract: A method for transforming a data octet (8B) including eight bits into a ten-bit code group (10B) including ten bits, the method including deriving an intermediate result from a table having fewer than 500 entries, and performing a logical operation on the intermediate result to generate the ten-bit code group. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
