  • Publication number: 20220219884
Abstract: A pressure control device for controlling a pressure in a beverage container comprises a gas filled pressure control chamber enclosed by a wall of the pressure control device. The wall has an inner surface facing the chamber and an outer surface facing away from the chamber, the inner surface and outer surface defining a thickness of he wall. A scavenger material is provided in the pressure control device for capturing gas that enters, during use, into the pressure control chamber. The scavenger material is distributed over the wall thickness with a predetermined concentration from the inner surface towards the outer surface of the wall such that a rate of gas capture by the scavenger material changes over time.

  • Patent number: 10537903
Abstract: A spray cap for a spray container constitutes a one-piece moulding of polymeric material and includes a cap plate in which a plurality of spray slits is formed. Integral with the cap plate is a non-return valve arranged to permit air to flow through it in one direction which, in use, is towards the interior of the spray container but substantially to prevent flow of air through it in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 7832184
Abstract: A container has a product chamber for containing a product. The product chamber has a product opening that opens into the exterior. A closure member is releasably mounted on the product opening. The container further includes an additive chamber for containing an additive, and a pressure valve that connects the additive chamber and the product chamber with each other. The pressure valve has a closed position when the pressure inside the product chamber is higher than the pressure inside the additive chamber, and an open position for discharging additive from the additive chamber into the product chamber when the pressure inside the product chamber is lower than the pressure inside the additive chamber. The pressure inside the product chamber is higher than the ambient pressure and the pressure inside the additive chamber is both lower than the pressure inside the product chamber and higher than the ambient pressure.

  • Patent number: 7093740
Abstract: Beverage container (3) provided with a dispensing valve (7) and a dispensing channel (31) connected to said dispensing valve, wherein an operating arm (41) is provided which, in a position of rest, includes an angle with a plane at right angles to a longitudinal axis (L) of the dispensing valve, wherein a pressure body (19) is provided between the pivoting arm (41) and said valve (7), such that upon a pivotal movement of the arm from said position of rest the pressure body (19) is moved and the valve is opened by the pressure body.

  • Publication number: 20010005931
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a container for receiving a food or beverage and including a heat exchange unit as an integral part thereof. The container is formed with an opening in a closed end thereof which opening is mated with a heat exchange unit containing an adsorbent material and is permanently secured thereto along with a valve and valve cap. The heat exchange unit is charged with a medium which, when activated, will heat or cool the food or beverage in the container depending upon whether the heat exchange unit is exothenrnic or endothermic.

  • Patent number: 5897828
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacture of duckbill valves in which the opposed lips of the valve are split by applying a high fluid pressure inside the valve. This pressure causes the valve to balloon and burst. Preferably, the valve is supported over all of its outer surface except the end to be split by a die. The system is particularly suited to duckbill valves made of thermoplastic elastomer.

  • Patent number: 5780083
Abstract: A carbonated beverage container (10, 35, 40) including a hollow insert (1, 20). The insert (1, 20) has one one-way valve (7, 29, 31, 32) and one orifice (6, 28, 33, 34), one of which is arranged to allow gas from a headspace above beverage (11) to enter the insert (1, 20), and the other is arranged to jet gas from inside the insert (1, 20) into the beverage (11) upon opening the container (10, 35, 40). The 20 gas jetting into the beverage (11) causes nucleation of fine bubbles in the beverage (11) which separate out to form a close-knit creamy head.

  • Patent number: 5705209
Abstract: A carbonated beverage container (10, 35, 40) including a hollow insert (1, 20) which floats in the beverage (11). the insert (1, 20) has two one-way valves (6, 7, 28, 29), one (6, 28) of which allows gas from a headspace above the beverage (11) to enter the insert (1, 20), the other (7, 29) allowing gas from the insert (1, 20) to be jetted into the beverage (11) upon opening the container (10, 35, 40). This jet of gas into the beverage (11) causes shear, and the liberation of gas bubbles which form a close-knit creamy head on the beverage (11) once dispensed.

  • Patent number: 5705210
Abstract: An insert (20) for use in a container (40) such as a bottle. The insert (20) has a deformable portion, so that in its non-deformed state it is too large to pass through an opening of the container (40) such as the neck of a bottle, yet in its deformed state, the insert (20) may pass through the opening of the container (40). This prevents the insert from being accidentally dentally dispensed with the contents of the container (40).
