The device displays a screen including predefined options for selecting at least one of a pre-generated message, a patient condition summary, and a patient plan. The predefined options are based on where a patient is admitted in a clinical care environment. The device generates an update of the patient based on a selection of the at least one of the message, the patient condition summary, and the patient plan. The device sends the update to a second device operated by a family member of the patient.
