Abstract: A communication device for use in a care facility includes a housing configured to be worn on a caregiver, a display disposed on the housing, a microphone configured to detect sound signals, and a speaker configured to convert an electromagnetic wave input into a sound wave output. The communication device further includes a controller configured to control or receive input from the display, the microphone, and the speaker.

Abstract: A device for managing caregiver and family communications is described. The device displays a screen including predefined options for selecting at least one of a pre-generated message, a patient condition summary, and a patient plan. The predefined options are based on where a patient is admitted in a clinical care environment. The device generates an update of the patient based on a selection of the at least one of the message, the patient condition summary, and the patient plan. The device sends the update to a second device operated by a family member of the patient.

Abstract: A system for providing communications on mobile devices located in a healthcare facility receives a notification identifying a patient admitted to the healthcare facility, creates a patient-centric chat room based the notification, and adds caregivers to the patient-centric chat room. The system provides messaging communications in the patient-centric chat room, and terminates the patient-centric chat room after the patient is discharged from the healthcare facility.

Abstract: An example mobile computing device can include: an engine programmed to receive one or more sources of patient data that provide patient identification information, vital signs information, alert information, and task information; and a display of the mobile device that renders a screen having: a first window having a listing of patients assigned to a caregiver; a second window having a plurality of vital signs and an early warning score associated with a patient of the caregiver.
