  • Publication number: 20050205773
Abstract: A black body assembly is provided for use in the calibration of infrared cameras. The assembly includes, among other things, a housing within which calibration components may be situated, and a lens guide for accurately positioning the assembly over a lens of the infrared camera. A heat emitter may be positioned within the housing for emitting a necessary amount of heat for calibration purposes. A heating element may also be provided within the housing for controlling the heating and cooling of the heat emitter. The assembly may also include a heat sink to remove excessive heat generated from the thermoelectric cooler during temperature cycling. An arm may be employed to hingedly connected to the assembly the camera to provide reliable and repeatable way to position the black body assembly at the front of the infrared lens. A method for calibrating an infrared camera is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050194537
Abstract: A system is provided utilizing sensors tuned to multiple wavelength spectra for evaluating and imaging an object being monitored. The system includes, among other things, an assembly for splitting a photon beam emitted from an object being monitored into multiple incident rays of different wavelength spectra. A plurality of detectors may be provided, each being tuned to a specific wavelength spectrum of the respective incident ray it is collecting, for converting, into electronic signals, data correlated from the respective incident ray. A processor may be used for generating discrete image data from the electronic signals of each respective incident ray for subsequent display as individual images, or as an integrated multi-spectral image on a display screen. A method for analyzing tissue characteristics is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6018427
Abstract: A filter clamp for retaining a filter, comprising a frame having an aperture to accommodate the filter, a clamp member having a clamp opening for alignment with the aperture when the clamp is in a mounted position, and a connector having a plurality of openings spaced about the aperture of the frame and mating protrusions spaced about the clamp opening of the clamp member. At least two protrusions extend through their mating openings and have their free ends formed at an angle to the openings so as to retain the clamp member in a mounted position containing the filter between the periphery and the frame while allowing the clamp member to move laterally, longitudinally and upwardly in relation to the frame sufficient amounts to accommodate expansion and contraction of the filter.
