Abstract: A shedding device for a weaving machine whose heddles are connected to respective return springs and wherein the springs have casings surrounding them. A lip seal on an end of each casing surrounding a rod portion of the heddle forms a hermetic seal against the rod portion to prevent dust and fluff from collecting on the respective spring.

Abstract: A shed-forming apparatus for a weaving machine includes warp thread guiding healds reciprocated vertically between an upper shed position and a lower shed position; a lowering frame; and return springs attached to each heald and to the lowering frame to reset the healds into the lower shed position. The lowering frame supports a channel through which an air stream is forced. The return springs are coupled to the channel for exposing the return springs to a pressure of an air flow to prevent dust deposition and lint formation on the return springs.

Abstract: The shedding device for weaving machines whose warp threads guided in heddles between an upper shed position and a lower shed position are moved back and forth, whereby tension springs that move axially in a surrounding casing grip each heddle to return them to the lower shed position, and the tension springs are attached to a downward-pulling base or rod of a downward-pulling frame. The shedding device is characterized in that a device to prevent dust and fluff from collecting an the return spring is an the face of the sleeve that moves axially relative to the affected heddles.

Abstract: A shedding device for looms includes healds each having a first end and a second end; and a piston-cylinder system for guiding warps in the healds by moving the healds between a top shed position and a lower shed position. The piston cylinder system includes: pistons each being connected at one end thereof to the second end of a corresponding one of the healds; and cylinders, each piston being reciprocatingly disposed in a corresponding one of the cylinders. The device further includes a system block, the cylinders defining bores in the system block; a guide block defining guide bores therein, the first end of each of the healds being guided in the guide bores of the guide block; a regulating pressure arrangement for actuating the pistons within the cylinders alternatingly between the top shed position and the lower shed position, the regulating arrangement including an arrangement for producing a return force on the pistons thereby bringing respective ones of the healds to their lower shed position.
