Publication number: 20170305276Abstract: An electro-hydraulic hybrid system for a vehicle utilizes both the advantages of the hydraulic hybrid system and the electric hybrid system to maximize the collection of energy lost during a braking process and to provide launch assists in an acceleration process. The electro-hydraulic hybrid system includes an ECU that controls the electro-hydraulic hybrid system, a hydraulic drive pump, an accumulator, a hydraulic reservoir, a hydraulic pump, an electric motor, a power converter, and a battery. The hydraulic reservoir is in fluid communication with the accumulator through the hydraulic drive pump that functions as the main component of the hydraulic regenerative braking system. The hydraulic reservoir is also in fluid communication with the accumulator through the hydraulic pump that acts as the main component of the electro-hydraulic inter-conversion unit along with the electric motor, the at least one battery, and power converter that are electrically connected to each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2017Publication date: October 26, 2017Inventors: Mark Ferri, Neeraj Chirmulay, Sachin Gupta

Patent number: 9372048Abstract: A system and method for ballistically cutting a multi-link metal chain comprises a chain alignment module that comprises three pins and attaches to the barrel of a firearm. A first pin and a second pin of the module fit on opposite sides of a target link of the chain. A third pin of the alignment module goes through a link adjacent to the target link of the chain. The three pins align the target link so that a bullet exiting the barrel of a firearm impacts a semicircular region of the target link to cause the target link to open.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2015Date of Patent: June 21, 2016Inventors: Darron Phillips, Mark Ferris, Bert Vermeulen

Publication number: 20090044439Abstract: A tactical foregrip assembly for use with a firearm, the assembly having an independently rotatable grip mount assembly and an independently rotatable light mount assembly. The invention comprises a stationary mount assembly attachable to the receiver of a firearm, a grip mount assembly radially rotatable about and electrically coupled to the stationary mount assembly, and a light mount assembly radially rotatable about and electrically coupled to the stationary mount and engagable with said grip assembly. The present invention allows the operator to provide light to illuminate an area while simultaneously positioning himself in a manner so as to maximally use available cover.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2008Publication date: February 19, 2009Applicant: BREACHING TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Darron Phillips, Mark Ferris, Art Gonthier

Publication number: 20050251051Abstract: The invention analyzes relationships between factors, within a patient population, to identify autonomic dysfunction patterns. Patient test results are then compared with the identified patterns to determine the patient's autonomic function. The invention can continually amend the patient population with new test results to create increasingly accurate normative data sets from which a patient's autonomic function can be more accurately assessed. The invention may apply this concept in an application service provider model. An embodiment of the invention may use a novel method of identifying ECG R-waves. The method locates R-waves by searching for maximum slope values, in signals, that exceed threshold values. Another embodiment of the invention entails utilizing data from a non-provocative HRV test and a provocative HRV test in an assessment tool to assess a patient's autonomic function.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2004Publication date: November 10, 2005Applicant: MedPond, LLCInventors: Vadim Pougatchev, Evgueni Gribkov, Yevgeniy Zhirnov, Mark Ferris

Publication number: 20050245837Abstract: The invention entails a mouthpiece for use in a spirometer. In one embodiment of the invention, the mouthpiece comprises a tube forming a conduit between an upstream end and a substantially closed downstream end. An opening is formed through the tube and is proximate to the downstream end of the tube. The mouthpiece also comprises a resistive element that is positioned substantially across the tube opening. In addition, the mouthpiece comprises an outer sleeve that is slide along the exterior of the tube. The outer sleeve may be slid along the tube thereby covering portions of the tube opening in varying amounts. Thus, the outer sleeve may be slid into one position wherein the tube opening is uncovered. The outer sleeve may then be advanced into a closed position wherein the tube opening is substantially sealed. Many partially closed positions exist between the open and closed positions thereby allowing for variable amounts of resistance to air flow.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2004Publication date: November 3, 2005Applicant: MedPond, LLCInventors: Vadim Pougatchev, Yevgeniy Zhirnov, Evgueni Gribkov, Mark Ferris
