    Abstract: A method of assessing driver capability for operating an autonomous vehicle includes identifying, by one or more processors, a human operator of the vehicle, the human operator being associated with a driving capability profile. The method also includes determining human operator parameters associated with the human operator and determining an alertness level of the human operator based on the human operator parameters. The method further includes signaling, by a notification server of the vehicle, to the human operator with the signal, the signal requesting a response from the human operator. The method also includes updating, based on the response from the human operator to the signal, the driving capability profile to indicate a level of skill of the human operator at responding to the signal at the determined alertness level.

    Abstract: In a computer-implemented method for detecting and acting upon driver compliance with driver-specific limitations, it is determined that a driver of a vehicle has one or more limitations specific to a medical condition and/or a physical characteristic of the driver. Telematics data is received and analyzed to identify a plurality of driving behaviors of the driver. Based upon the driving behaviors, a level of compliance with the limitations is determined. Based upon the level of compliance, at least a portion of a driver profile is set. At least the portion of the profile is transmitted to an entity that adjusts a credit rating of the driver, adjusts an insurance rating of the driver, reviews at least the portion of the profile in connection with a job sought by the driver, or offers a permanent or temporary credit in connection with a good or service offered by the entity. As a result, benefits or cost savings may be provided to risk-averse drivers.

According to certain aspects, a computer-implemented method for communicating information regarding a smart infrastructure component to an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle may be provided. Sensors may be communicatively connected to an infrastructure communication device, and the infrastructure communication device may generate a message based upon information from the sensors and/or regarding the infrastructure component. The message may be transmitted, and, with the vehicle operator's permission, all or part of the determined message may be presented to the operator of the autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle. The message may include weather, traffic, ice, or road condition or construction information and facilitate safer vehicle travel.

    Abstract: An alert may be triggered to notify a pedestrian of the current operational mode of a nearby vehicle. For instance, a vehicle may operate in an autonomous or manual mode, and may occasionally switch from one mode to the other. A pedestrian who may be unaware of the current operational mode of a nearby vehicle may notice the alert and proceed accordingly. In one embodiment, an indication of the current operational mode of the nearby vehicle may be transmitted to an electronic device associated with the pedestrian. The device may generate a notification to the pedestrian based on the current operational mode. In an additional or alternative embodiment, the alert may be transmitted by the vehicle externally to be visible or audible to the pedestrian. In some embodiments, the alert may be triggered only for particular operational modes (e.g., only for autonomous or only for manual).

The system and methods may include one or more processors, sensors, or transceivers to determine that an individual associated with an auto insurance policy is located in a driver seat of a vehicle for a vehicle trip. Telematics data may be collected from the sensors that indicates a time of day and an amount of time that the individual typically drives the vehicle. The telematics may be associated with the individual and a driving score for the individual may be determined. A vehicle-usage profile for the vehicle may then be updated with the telematics data or the driving score. The vehicle-usage profile may indicate a driving behavior of the individual and an auto insurance policy may be updated based on the profile.

The indication of the identity of the target vehicle and the indication of the evaluation of the operation of the target vehicle may be transmitted to a remote server.

A camera mounted on the vehicle may be activated, based upon the indication of the trigger event, to acquire an image of a second vehicle associated with the vehicle collision. Image data associated with the image may then be transmitted to a remote server computer for analysis of the image data, in which the remove server is capable of generating from the image data, a reconstruction of the vehicle collision, and determining, from the reconstruction of the vehicle collision, a cause of loss associated with the vehicle collision.

Repairs associated with the damage may be determined based upon the operating data, as well as an expected cost associated with the repairs. Insurance discounts may be provided to risk averse customers that timely repair damaged vehicles or features that impact vehicle safety.

The first vehicle may be determined to be in proximity to a second vehicle based upon sensor data obtained from the one or more sensors. An identifier associated with the second vehicle may be determined based upon the sensor data and the identifier may be used to receive evaluation data associated with the second vehicle. The evaluation data may indicate a quality level associated with operation of the second vehicle. Based upon the evaluation data, it may be determined that the second vehicle is associated with a heightened risk of a vehicle accident. A warning regarding the heighted risk may be generated and presented, by an output device, to a vehicle operator of the first vehicle.
