Publication number: 20080202047Abstract: A barrier or partition for the inside of a house having upper and lower barrier sections that are adjustable relative to each other such that the barrier as a whole is adjustable in height. The upper and lower barrier sections have paired vertically extending support members that slide relative to each other. At least one pair of vertically extending support members have a pincher or pincher mechanism that squeezes upon one of the vertically extending support members to fix the vertically extending support members in a nonsliding fashion relative to each other. The barrier includes a gate that also includes upper and lower sections and paired vertically extending support members that slide relative to each other. Further upper and lower sections, with or without gates, may be laterally attached or detached to increase or decrease a length of the barrier.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2007Publication date: August 28, 2008Inventor: Mark A. Publication number: 20080185566Abstract: A safety barrier for an inside of a house for partitioning off a portion of the house. The safety barrier includes a number of individual barrier sections where two adjacent barrier sections are engaged via a connector. The connector has an upper connection, a lower connection, and an elongate central member interconnecting the upper and lower connections. Each of the connections has a pair of relatively swingable arms. Each of the arms engages a barrier section. A threaded member draws the upper and lower connections closed simultaneously to fix the arms relative to each other and to thus fix the barrier sections relative to each other. The arms, prior to being fixed, are swingable relative to each other from about zero degrees to about 270 degrees such that a zig-zag, linear, or circular barriers can be made. A gate or door that can be opened and closed for access to the partitioned section of the house is engaged in one of the barrier sections.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2007Publication date: August 7, 2008Inventor: Mark A. Publication number: 20080155748Abstract: A bed rail structured to minimize the gap between the mattress and the bed rail and including a leg portion and a rail portion. The rail portion extends upwardly on a first side of the mattress to extend beyond the sleeping surface of the mattress and prevent a person from rolling out of bed. The leg portion is sandwiched between the mattress and the box spring and extends toward a second side of the mattress. In one embodiment, the leg portion includes a distal end that is engaged to the second side of at least one of the mattress and box spring such that the distal end and rail portion hug the mattress. In another embodiment, the bed rail includes a relatively rigid cover depending from an upper portion of the rail portion to the sleeping surface so as to cover a gap that may exist between the first side of the mattress and the rail portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2007Publication date: July 3, 2008Inventors: Mark A. Publication number: 20080127413Abstract: A portable child bed in the nature of a cot. The cot includes a frame having a network of interconnected legs such that the frame is collapsible and expandable between open and closed configurations. The frame includes a stop to halt the expansion of the frame at a certain position. Flexible bedding depends from the frame in the nature of a hammock, with the flexible bedding being anchored at six positions about the frame. The frame of interconnected legs includes legs that are shaped to be out-of-the-way of the depending flexible bedding such that a child rests on the flexible bedding, not on the frame. Flexible straps run on an underside of the bedding and run to and between hubs of the frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2006Publication date: June 5, 2008Inventor: Mark A. Flannery

Publication number: 20080127897Abstract: A bed for a pet such as a cat or dog that includes a frame having a collapsible and expandable network of interlocking legs and a covering for the frame. The covering includes a first cover portion for extending over a top and four sides of the frame, and a second cover portion for further extending over the top side or raised floor of the frame. The network of interlocking legs includes pairs of pivoting legs interconnected via hubs and, as a whole, is resilient so as to provide a forgiving or hammock style of pet bed. The first cover portion hides the networked frame from view. The second cover portion includes a cushion to provide further resiliency to the pet bed and further includes a carpet of soft fibers on which the pet directly makes contact when lying down.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2006Publication date: June 5, 2008Inventor: Mark A. Publication number: 20070074453Abstract: A gate within a gate within a barrier. A first, relatively small gate is engaged within a second, relatively large gate, which is engaged in a barrier for extending across a passageway of a residence. The relatively large gate can be closed to, for example, minimize access of toddlers to the passageway, while the relatively small gate can be opened to, for example, maximize access of small dogs to the passageway. One example of a passageway is the head or bottom of a stairway. The relatively large gate, when closed, minimizes toddlers from falling down or climbing up stairs. The relatively small gate, when open, permits small dogs to walk down or climb up the stairs.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2006Publication date: April 5, 2007Inventor: Mark Flannery

Publication number: 20070040430Abstract: A child seat that can be used as either a rocker or a booster. The child seat has a frame that includes a pair of leg portions having respective curved sections on which the child seat can be rocked back and forth. The same frame includes a pair of arm arrangements that can be engaged to an object such as a table such that the child seat can hang off the table and extend into the air. When engaged to the table, such as to the edge of the table, the seat frame portion of the child seat can be angularly adjusted as to a remaining portion of the frame such that the child seat can recline whether the child seat is in use as a booster or as a rocker. The seat portion of the frame is disposed within the arm arrangement and leg portions of the frame. The frame clamps tightly to the table via the frame resiliently biting into the table when a lock is swung into position.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2006Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventor: Mark Flannery

Publication number: 20060174408Abstract: A bed rail having an operating position at one of the sides of a bed and a stored position between a mattress and box spring of the bed. To take down the bed rail, a guard frame portion is disengaged from a base frame portion, then the guard frame portion is pivoted and slid into the base frame portion. To set up the bed rail, the guard frame portion can be slid out of the base frame portion, pivoted relative to the base frame portion, then engaged to the base frame portion and into the operating position at a side of the bed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2006Publication date: August 10, 2006Inventor: Mark Flannery

Publication number: 20060163922Abstract: A folding child booster seat having a frame portion and a seat portion. The frame portion includes foot hubs, seat hubs, and a set of pivoting support members joining the foot hubs and the seat hubs. The frame portion further includes a pair of seat back support members where each of the seat back support members is engaged to one of the foot hubs and is slideably engaged to one of the seat hubs. The pivoting support members includes front, rear, right side and left side pairs of pivoting support members. Stops on the seat back support members limit a sliding of the hubs that slideably engage the seat back support members to minimize an opening of the frame portion, and flexible members engaged between the foot hubs can further minimize an opening of the frame portion. The seat portion is engaged to two of the seat hubs and is further slideably engaged to the seat back support members.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2006Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventor: Mark Flannery
