The support member includes a resilient button that extends into the gate handle and is pushable out of the gate handle by the push button. The support member further includes side slots that are engaged by side slides extending from the handle.

Abstract: The present lift lock includes a slide having feet and a slot between the feet, where such slide further includes an interior generally full length wall for acting as a stop, and where such slide further includes gripping ribs that increase in width from the front end of the slide to the rear end of the slide.

Abstract: A gate apparatus having an automatically returning gate, an upper latch operated by an upper button, and a lower latch operated by an upper finger handle. Each of the latches must be opened to open the gate. The gate returns without the aid of a spring to a position close to the closed position or to the closed position by the structure of a pivot or hinge connection between the gate and the frame of the gate. Gate tubes are rectangular in section for their entire length. Wood panels are included in the gate and excluded from other portions of the gate apparatus to make the gate stand out to the user seeking to open the gate.

Abstract: A barrier that includes four structurally different corner connections for fixing a gate frame of the barrier to and between opposing vertical surfaces. Abstract: A horizontally expandable bed rail having a guard rail frame that confronts a first side of a bed to prevent a child from falling out of the bed. The guard rail frame includes a pair of vertical support members interconnected by upper, lower and intermediate horizontal support members that slide horizontally in and out such that the vertical support members have an extended position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a first distance and a drawn in position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a second distance that is less than the first distance.

Abstract: The present gated barrier includes a threshold and an isolator on the bottommost surface of the threshold to space the gated barrier from the floor. The isolator includes a compressible layer made of a textile. In a second embodiment, the isolator includes a relatively compressible layer made of a textile and a relatively incompressible layer made of a plastic. The isolator protects the floor against scratches and dampens the noise that is made when the gate is shut.

Abstract: A first gate is disposed within a second gate of a barrier for extending across a passageway of a residence. The second gate can be closed to, for example, minimize access of toddlers to the passageway, while the first gate can be opened to, for example, maximize access of small dogs to the passageway. The barrier includes a locking mechanism between the second gate and a frame of the barrier.

Abstract: The present chair includes a scissoring straight leg and oblique support mechanism such that the chair may be folded between open and closed forms. Abstract: The present lift lock is employed on a gate that is swingable and liftable on a first axis. In a first position the lift lock is on the first axis and in a blocking position that prevents the gate from being lifted relative to a barrier having the gate. The lift lock is slideable away from the first position on the axis to a second position away from the axis where the lift lock is in an unblocking position, thereby permitting the gate to be lifted on the axis. The lift lock snaps into and out of the second position.

Abstract: A tray for attachment to first and second rising legs of a foldable chair for a child. A connection between the tray and one of the first and second legs includes a female connector depending from the underside of a tray and a male connector rising from the leg. An interlock slides between the female and male connectors and is operated by a handle integral with the interlock. Resilient arms integral with the interlock and handle keep the interlock engaged and automatically draw back the interlock after the handle slides the interlock to a disengaged position such that the tray can be removed from the legs.

Abstract: A bed rail having an operating position at one of the sides of a bed and a stored position between a mattress and box spring of the bed. To take down the bed rail, a guard frame portion is disengaged from a base frame portion, then the guard frame portion is pivoted and slid into the base frame portion. To set up the bed rail, the guard frame portion can be slid out of the base frame portion, pivoted relative to the base frame portion, then engaged to the base frame portion and into the operating position at a side of the bed.

Abstract: The present double door gate apparatus has a first lowermost frame member with a first inner end and a second lowermost frame member with a second inner end. The first and second inner ends are spaced apart and engaged by a first connector that engages exterior portions of the inner ends and a second connector that engages interior portions of the inner ends. The wood lends less weight, less sharp edges, and more pleasing aesthetics than, for example, a metal gate.
