  • Publication number: 20170095339
Abstract: Shoulder arthroplasty systems and configurations for components thereof are described. For example, implant systems for a total should arthroplasty (TSA), hemi shoulder arthroplasty, and reverse should arthroplasty (RSA) are described. In addition, exemplary configurations for baseplates, glenoid components, glenosphere components, humeral components, humeral head components, humerosocket components, connectors, and adaptors, are described.

  • Publication number: 20130190762
Abstract: The system and method for intramedullary plate fixation of the preferred embodiments include a first intramedullary plate of a first geometry with a plurality of bores, a second intramedullary plate of a second geometry with a plurality of bores, a plurality of fasteners that fasten the first and second intramedullary plates to bone, and an alignment fixture held outside of the body that indicate the location of the bores of the first and second intramedullary plates and through which the fasteners are aligned with the bores of the first and second intramedullary plates, allowing the surgeon to make incisions in the patients body in known locations of the bores, and thus allowing for a minimally invasive intramedullary plate installation and fixation procedure.

  • Patent number: 6860887
Abstract: A method and system of suture management aids a surgeon while tying knots in sutures during surgery to preclude suture tangling. A tubular guide has an anchoring screw with a threaded lower end and an upper end removably supported by the guide. Between the upper and lower ends is an eyelet. A pair of sutures includes a first suture of a first visual characteristic and a second suture of a second visual characteristic. Each suture has two free ends and a central portion positioned through the eyelet. At least one hollow sleeve receives there through an associated suture.

  • Patent number: 6790234
Abstract: A reverse shoulder prosthesis system has a humeral stem with a lower cylindrical portion, an upper cylindrical portion, an intermediate conical portion, and a central axis, a large flat with a small recess having an axis forming an angle of about 150 degrees to the central axis. A humeral socket has an upper surface machined as a hemisphere and an attached backing plate formed with a projection as a male Morse taper received in the small recess of the stem. A glenoid head is formed in a hemispherical configuration with a cylindrical pocket. A baseplate has a cylindrical central part, an exterior part, a long cancellous bone screw machined in the center of the exterior part, and an enlarged interior projection for assembly to the head.

  • Patent number: 6679916
Abstract: A shoulder prosthesis system has a glenoid socket with an interior face with couplers and an exterior face being a concave articulating face with a first longitudinal radius of curvature and a second latitudinal radius of curvature. A backing plate has an outer extent and an inner extent. The outer extent has a cylindrical base and a recess around the periphery and a plurality of tapered bores extending through the outer extent spaced between the recess and the center of the backing plate. The inner extent is formed with a projection with threads adapted to be rotatably coupled into a scapula of a patient. The couplers of the outer extent are adapted to snap couple with the recesses of the glenoid socket.
