  • Patent number: 12786487
Abstract: A system for modifying the presentation of pre-generated content to a user, the system comprising a user focus determination unit configured to determine a level of user focus in respect of at least a portion of content being displayed to the user, a user profile obtaining unit configured to obtain a user profile indicating one or more characteristics of the user, a content modification unit configured to modify, in response to a determination of the level of user focus falling below a threshold value, the presentation of one or more portions of the pre-generated content to increase the level of user focus, wherein the modification is determined in dependence upon the obtained user profile.

  • Patent number: 12746460
Abstract: An entertainment system includes circuitry configured to receive input signals from at least a first input device and a second input device, where each input signal corresponds to a control in one of the input devices, determine whether each input signal is included in a respective control subset allocated to the input device from which the input signal was received, determine if each input signal is an input signal to be utilised based on whether it is included in the respective control subset, treat input signals to be utilised from any of the input devices as input signals from the same single input device, and determine, according to a predetermined control scheme, a process to be executed based on the input signals to be utilised, and where the respective control subsets each comprise at least one control not found in the other control subsets, and the respective control subsets together comprise a full complement of controls for an input device.

  • Patent number: 12741209
Abstract: Disclosed are an entertainment device, a method and a computer program. The entertainment device includes receiver circuitry and processing circuitry. The receiver circuitry receives, from a controller, input actuation information and associated motion detection information, where the input actuation information is indicative of detected actuation of at least one manual actuation input of the controller and the associated motion detection information is indicative of detected motion of the controller. The processing circuitry processes a game state of a game and, in at least a first mode of operation, selects, from amongst a plurality of interpretations, an interpretation of the input actuation information in dependence on the associated motion detection information and updates the processing of the game state in dependence on the selected interpretation of the input actuation information.

  • Publication number: 20240123352
Abstract: An affective gaming system includes: an administrator unit configured to host a session of a video game; a receiving unit configured to receive biometric data associated with two or more users participating in the session of a video game; a first generating unit configured to generate, based on at least part of the biometric data, current emotion data associated with each of the two or more users; a selecting unit configured to select a first user based on at least part of the current emotion data; a second generating unit configured to generate, based at least in part on the current emotion data that is associated with a second user, target emotion data associated with the first user; and a modifying unit configured to modify, responsive to the difference between the target emotion data and the current emotion data that is associated with the first user, one or more aspects of the video game that are specific to the first user.
