  • Publication number: 20120239499
Abstract: In embodiments of the invention, as an inducement to a dealer/bailee entering into the financing agreement with a financing entity/bailor, the bailor may offer the use of embodiments of the invention to prepare targeted advertisements of the bailee's inventory for distribution to the bailee's customers. A first server coupled to a tag reader, is programmed to access terms of the agreement, to monitor the event signals received from the reader. A second server is coupled to the first server and is programmed to collect data based on the event signals received by the first server and to use the data to prepare targeted advertisements of the bailee's inventory, in accordance with the agreement.

  • Publication number: 20120239568
Abstract: In embodiments of the invention, in accordance with a financing/bailment agreement, a dealer/bailee is required to retain the bailed property units in a controlled area to enable embodiments of the invention to perform real-time execution of inventory financing transactions. The bailed property units are tagged with tags for inventory identification. A reader device associated with the controlled area, detects entry or removal of the bailed property units by detecting a signal from a tag of the bailed property unit, the reader outputting an event signal. A server coupled to the reader, is programmed to access terms of the agreement, to monitor the event signals received from the reader. The server is coupled to one or more banks having an account of the bailor and an account of the bailee.

  • Publication number: 20120239493
Abstract: In embodiments of the invention, bailed property units may be stored on a portable platform in accordance with a financing/bailment agreement. In accordance with the financing/bailment agreement, the dealer/bailee is required to retain the bailed property units in a controlled area to enable embodiments of the invention to perform real-time execution of inventory financing transactions. Since the platform on which the bailed property units are stored is portable, the platform includes a location detector, such as a GPS unit, to enable tracking the location of the platform in the controlled area. A tag reader and location detector output a wireless event signal and wireless location signal. A first server wirelessly coupled to the reader and location detector, is programmed to access terms of the agreement. The first server is programmed to monitor the event and location signals received from the reader and location detector.

  • Publication number: 20090234764
Abstract: An embodiment relates generally to a method of authenticating a monetary fund transfer. The method includes receiving a monetary fund transfer request that includes a declared identity of a sender and an identity of a recipient, retrieving biometric data from the sender, and determining whether or not a biometric template associated with the declared identity is available. The method also includes verifying the declared identity by comparing the retrieved biometric data with the biometric template, if the biometric template is available. The method further includes determining a compliance status of the transfer request in a governing jurisdiction of the sender based on the retrieved biometric data and/or the verified identity of the sender.

  • Publication number: 20090012899
Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for generating and managing a deposit-only account identifier that can be portably linked to one or more transaction accounts, at the account holder's discretion. A deposit-only account identifier can be a virtual identifier, such as a temporary or permanent account number. The account holder can publish the virtual identifier to desired persons, financial institutions, or other parties to permit those entities to transmit funds to the deposit-only account. The account holder can move received funds to one or more linked transaction accounts, such as bank checking accounts, money market accounts, or others. Details regarding the underlying account(s) such as geographic location, currency, balances or other information can be retained in confidence, visible only to the account holder. Received funds can be distributed to underlying accounts according to criteria such as the currency or amount of the received funds, time of receipt, or other rules.

  • Publication number: 20080114670
Abstract: An embodiment relates generally to a method of processing a financial transaction. The method includes receiving a requested transaction, where the requested transaction is transferring a sum of money or other assets from an originator to a receiver. The method also includes applying a set of rules to the requested transaction to vet the requested transaction, where the set of rules define the regulatory and legal compliance rules for the governing jurisdictions of the originator and receiver for a legal transaction. The method further includes obtaining a result from the application of the set of rules and approving the requested transaction in response to the result being passing all requirements of the set of rules.

  • Patent number: 7232932
Abstract: A perfluoropolyether, a composition comprising the perfluoropolyether, a process for producing the perfluoropolyether, and a process for improving the thermostability of grease or lubricant are provided. The perfluoropolyether comprises perfluoroalkyl radical end groups in which the radical has at least 3 carbon atoms per radical and is substantially free of perfluoromethyl and perfluoroethyl end groups. The process for producing the perfluoropolyether can comprise (1) contacting a perfluoro acid halide, a C2-to C4-substituted ethyl epoxide, or a C3+ fluoroketone with a metal halide to produce an alkoxide; (2) contacting the alkoxide with either hexafluoropropylene oxide or tetrafluorooxetane to produce a second acid halide; (3) esterifying the second acid halide to an ester; (4) reducing the ester to its corresponding alcohol; (5) converting the alcohol with a base to a salt form; (6) contacting the salt form with a C3 or higher olefin to produce a fluoropolyether; and (7) fluorinating the fluoropolyether.

  • Patent number: 7148385
Abstract: A perfluoropolyether and a composition comprising the perfluoropolyether are provided in which the perfluoropolyether comprises at least one bromine or iodine atom at the primary position of the perfluoropolyether. Also provided is a process for producing the composition in which the process comprises contacting a perfluoropolyether acid fluoride moiety with a metal bromide or metal iodide or a suitable polyether secondary iodide under a condition sufficient to effect the production of a perfluoropolyether comprising at least one bromine or iodine at the primary position.

  • Publication number: 20050184285
Abstract: A semiconductor quantum dot device converts spin information to charge information utilizing an elongated quantum dot having an asymmetric confining potential along its length so that charge movement occurs during orbital excitation. A single electron sensitive electrometer is utilized to detect the charge movement. Initialization and readout can be carried out rapidly utilizing RF fields at appropriate frequencies.
