  • Patent number: 8641147
Abstract: A patient procedures chair is provided with a system that permits ready interchangeability of patient headrests with ease of positioning and locking in position while at the same time guarding against inadvertent axial removal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2007
Date of Patent: February 4, 2014
    Assignee: Midmark Corporation
    Inventor: Mark G. Diller
  • Patent number: 7770977
Abstract: The headrest and side rails of a patient procedures chair are mounted on posts which are slidably received in elongated, self-aligning or floating plastic bearings. With this construction, any misalignment of the posts due to manufacturing tolerances will be accounted for as the bearings readjust themselves. Clamping devices engage the bearings and cause deformation to increase the frictional engagement of the bearings with the posts to the point where the posts are locked into place. In this regard, actuation of the clamps is accomplished by large knobs that protrude from the back of the chair for ready accessibility.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 20, 2007
Date of Patent: August 10, 2010
    Assignee: Midmark Corporation
    Inventor: Mark G. Diller

  • Patent number: 7058998
Abstract: A foot control for controlling power-driven functions of a medical apparatus which positions a patient in a variety of examination and treatment positions. The foot control includes a membrane switch and a flexible keypad overlying the membrane switch. The flexible keypad is configured to actuate switch elements of the membrane switch in response to selective pressure applied on the keypad by a user's foot. Different configurations of keypads are interchangeable on the foot control to change the control functionality of the foot control while the membrane switch remains unchanged.
