  • Patent number: 11035295
Abstract: A nacelle for an engine includes an exterior housing a least partially surrounding the engine. The nacelle further includes a front portion proximate an engine face of the engine. The front portion of the nacelle defines an opening into an interior of the nacelle. The nacelle further includes a seal disposed proximate the opening. The seal is configured to selectively allow air into the interior of the nacelle. The nacelle further includes a heat exchanger disposed within the interior of the nacelle. The heat exchanger is configured to exchange heat between a fluid flowing within the heat exchanger and air at the interior of the nacelle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 18, 2018
Date of Patent: June 15, 2021
    Assignee: Lockheed Martin Corporation
Inventors: Mark G. McGee, Robert Borovsky, Troy Don Brunson, Lori Kay Jackson, Devin A. Stacey, Carey F. Cox

  • Patent number: 6240333
Abstract: A method and system for fabrication of composite parts with tools determines a layout pattern within an autoclave based upon the heating variance of the autoclave and the thermal performance of each selected tool. The layout pattern can provide for production goals such as minimizing processing time for a given selection of tools in an autoclave. The layout pattern is displayed with an easy to use graphical user interface or through a printout that allows an autoclave operator to quickly and efficiently determine an optimal loading pattern and load an autoclave accordingly.
