  • Patent number: 7445372
Abstract: A device for blending and dispensing liquid compositions includes an arrangement of components that provide an efficient dispenser for home and personal use. The device may include a plurality of cartridges and a plurality of pumps. Each of the cartridges contains a liquid additive and may be removably attached to the dispenser. Each of the pumps is connected to one of the cartridges and can be activated to draw a desired amount of liquid from that cartridge. The device may also include a spinning element for both mixing and dispensing the liquid composition. The liquids may flow out of the cartridges to one or more inlets near the surface of the spinning element and be mixed as they flow over the surface of the spinning element. The spinning element may also be selectively movable from a closed position sealing the dispensing outlet to an open position that provides a pathway for liquid to be dispensed from the device.

  • Publication number: 20080089786
Abstract: A multiple counter-rotating propeller assembly includes a drive shaft, a first propeller and a second propeller. The first propeller has a first hub which is supported on the drive shaft and which is freely rotatable with respect to the drive shaft, a plurality of first blades mounted on the hub, and a gear set connected to the drive shaft and to the hub, the gear set rotating the hub in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the drive shaft. The second propeller has a second hub which is supported on the drive shaft and which is freely rotatable with respect to the drive shaft, and a plurality of second blades mounted on the second hub, the second hub connected to the gear set in the first hub to rotate the second hub in the same direction as the rotation of the drive shaft. The entire propeller assembly is supported solely on the drive shaft, and the inclusion of the gear set which provides all of the gear reduction completely within the propeller hub provides a compact design.

  • Patent number: 5809591
Abstract: A patient lift system incorporates a transverse bar which carries a patient lift system for movement between two laterally extending bars. The transverse bar is mounted at the same vertical height as the laterally extending bars and carries a motor for lifting and lowering the patient. Since the transverse bar is at the same vertical height additional patient lift height is provided as compared to prior art systems. In a further feature of the present invention, the frame includes an improved corner bracket and also includes vertical adjustment for the legs to achieve leveling of the overall frame. In another feature of this invention, a patient lift bar includes four lift points, with two forward lift points spaced by a greater distance than the two rearward lift points. This provides greater support to the rear of the patient, while the additional distance in the front facilitates entry and removal of the patient lift system.
