  • Publication number: 20100017214
Abstract: A distributed processing service is configured between an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), which supports a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for delivering utility services, and a Sensor Data/Event Processing Bus, which receives data communication from sensors on a utility grid. The distributed processing service provides middleware that allows the event-driven Sensor Data/Event Processing Bus to communicate with the transaction-drive ESB, thus permitting the delivery of services from the SOA to the utility grid.

  • Publication number: 20090228324
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for managing a commodity resource in a distributed network by aggregating marginal demand functions or marginal supply functions, depending on whether a node is a commodity consumer or a commodity producer, and determining an optimal allocation/production based on the aggregated function. By way of example, the commodity being managed may be an energy-based commodity such as electrical energy. In such case, the distributed commodity resource-based network may be a distributed electrical grid network.
