Publication number: 20110229294Abstract: An integral lift assembly incorporated into a storage compartment under the patient compartment of an emergency vehicle. The integral lift assembly is stored in the storage compartment until a patient is loaded onto the emergency vehicle. During the loading process, the integral lift assembly extends, under power, from the storage compartment, and is lowered to the ground to allow a stretcher or gurney to be rolled onto it. A lift arm raises the structure or gurney, under power, and automatically aligns it with the floor of the patient compartment. The stretcher or gurney is then rolled into the patient compartment. The lift arm then rotates to a storage position and is retracted to a storage compartment underneath the patient compartment.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2011Publication date: September 22, 2011Inventor: Mark Gale

Publication number: 20100230199Abstract: A motorcycle includes a rear brake caliper bracket coupled to the swingarm. In some constructions, the rear brake caliper bracket includes a caliper mounting portion and a license plate mounting portion. In some constructions, the rear brake caliper bracket includes an axle engaging portion secures and retains the axle relative to the swingarm in a desired position along the axis of rotation. In some constructions, the rear brake caliper bracket is disposed at a laterally outward side of the swingarm and includes a caliper mounting portion, first and second swingarm engaging portions, and an axle engaging portion. In such constructions, the motorcycle may further include an axle adjusting member engaged with the rear brake caliper bracket and operable to adjust the position of the axle relative to the swingarm.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2009Publication date: September 16, 2010Applicant: HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTOR COMPANY GROUP, LLCInventors: Andrew Roth, Mark Gales, Rodney Weekley, Christopher Poquette, Joseph M. Patent number: 5803924Abstract: An external fixator comprises transfixing pins having a flange which abuts against the bone surface to distribute stress along the length of the threaded portion extending into the bone. The pins are mounted in elastomeric bushes in an outrigger to allow limited movement at the outrigger. The outrigger comprises two clamps which are connected through an elastomeric bush allowing a small degree of axial bending and rotational movement of the clamps relative to one another. The arrangement reduces loosening of the pins in the bone and allows beneficial relative movement of the fractured bone portions near the fracture site.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1996Date of Patent: September 8, 1998Assignee: Hi-Shear Fastners Europe LimitedInventors: Olusola Olumide Akindele Oni, Richard Mark Gale, John Stephen Batchelor
