  • Patent number: 7733509
Abstract: A printing system and method for printing XML files directly using a formatting template is disclosed. The formatting template includes an XML Descriptor (XMD) associated with each XML data element in a tree structure of the XML document. XML Descriptors (XMDs) are identified by an associated qualified tag. The qualified tag includes a concatenation of a plurality of XML start tags representing start tags hierarchically traversed in the tree structure of the XML document to reach the XML data element associated therewith. The XMDs provide formatting to content associated with the XML data element. A printer prints the rendered XML document according to the template using the XMDs.

  • Publication number: 20070224637
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and composition related to lipid layers with increased stability to oxidative degradation. In one embodiment, the invention provides lipid layers comprising antioxidant inclusion molecules that permit biosensors with increased performance and functional lifetime due to increased oxidative protection. In addition to these lipid-layer compositions, the present invention provides methods for further protection of lipid layers from oxidation. These methods include application of solutions and coatings comprising barrier compounds (e.g., trehalose), storage under anaerobic conditions (e.g., with inert gases), storage with oxidant scavengers (e.g., dessicants and catalysts), and packaging with barrier materials (e.g., mylar, polyethylene) that prevent oxidant exposure.

  • Publication number: 20070190152
Abstract: A method of providing an active agent topically to the skin is provided and includes providing a topical preparation having an internal phase and an external phase, wherein the internal phase is dispersed within the external phase. The internal phase includes at least one hydrophilic carrier, at least one hydrophilic component, and at least one active agent, and the external phase comprises a silicone matrix. The topical preparation is placed in contact with the skin of a patient such that the active agent is released from the silicone matrix topically onto the skin of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20030058469
Abstract: A printing system and method for printing XML files directly using a formatting template is disclosed. An embodiment of the printing system includes a spooler for receiving printable information from the print channel, a print services facility for parsing an XML file, formatting the XML file according to a formatting template, the print services facility organizing a data stream representing the formatted XML file and generating a print steam having been formatted using the formatting template and a printer for printing the print steam according to the formatting defined by the formatting template, wherein the formatting template defines a data map format containing XML descriptors defining the formatting for an element of the XML file. The formatting template, such as a data map in a page definition, is used to format each XML element. The formatting template contains descriptors that specify presentation parameters such as position, rotation, font, color, etc.

  • Publication number: 20020111963
Abstract: Provided is a method, program and system for processing a source document in a structured document format including elements providing content to render. A source document and page layout data structure providing formatting properties specifying a layout and format of the content output are received. The source document and the page layout data structure are processed to determine page divisions and formatting properties for the content in the source document. Multiple page objects are generated, wherein each page object includes content and formatting properties for at least one page. The page objects are transmitted to a rasterizer to transform into renderable information capable of being generated by an output device.
