  • Patent number: 6882307
Abstract: A system on interactive tracking and inventorying of incident response equipment and associated methods is provided. The system and methods enable command centers to determine the geographic location of all available emergency response equipment that are capable of responding to an incident. The systems and methods allow the inventory to be updated as equipment and personnel are spent during the course of the incident. The location of the equipment and personnel can be viewed on a topography map, as well as an aerial map, to enable the incident command to determine the atmospheric surroundings of each piece of equipment. The maps can be superimposed so that more than one type of map data can be viewed simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 6606562
Abstract: A security and tracking system and associated methods for monitoring the location and status of vehicle activities. The system and methods enable users to determine the geographic location of a vehicle and the time period in which the vehicle is being operated. If the vehicle is being operated out of a specified geographic range or a specified time period, then the system alerts users to this information. The system and methods enable occupants within the vehicle to send an alarm to a user if assistance is needed. If the system has been tampered with or its power source is low, then a signal can be sent to a home base unit, which is used to monitor or track the vehicle, indicating the appropriate condition.

  • Patent number: 5745921
Abstract: A sweat band for absorbing and transferring moisture from the brow of a wearer's head including, an elongate body (10) having a generally tubular medial portion (11) for engaging the brow of a wearer's head and extending ends (12, 13) for securing the band about the wearer's head with the medial portion thus positioned, the medial portion of the elongate body formed of a porous cloth cover (15) on the outer surface thereof, a layer of porous batting material (25) disposed internally of the porous cloth cover in a generally tubular configuration, a surface skin (30, 31) on each side of the layer of porous batting material providing retention of and travel of moisture longitudinally of the layer of porous batting material, and securing elements (40, 41) retaining the layer of porous batting material and the surface skin in a predetermined position relative to the porous cloth cover.

  • Patent number: 5603120
Abstract: An attachment for a headgear having a flap depending therefrom to display an image and also providing a sun shield for the neck of the wearer. The attachment includes a flat strip that is preferably extruded from low density polyethylene material. Thus, it is pliable with plastic memory so that it tries to straighten out when curled in a suitable arc for matching the contour of a hatband. For headgear having a standard hatband, slitted tabs at opposite ends of the strip are separated so that the U-shaped tongue of each tab goes over the top of the hatband into the pocket therebehind. The attachment can also be secured to the webbing of a hard hat by slipping webbing straps through the slitted tab ends of the attachment strip. No special connection parts are required to be included in the headgear and the attachment is not size sensitive, but can be used in almost any size of headgear.

  • Patent number: 4726207
Abstract: A portable steering column locking apparatus in two pieces for surrounding the steering column of an automotive vehicle and specifically enclosing the ignition switch and the skin of the steering column beneath which the ignition control rod is located. The cylinder operates in a bolt wing and a striker wing part that cannot be pried apart because of housing projections fitting respectively within side recesses in the wings. The locking cylinder has a carbon steel crosspiece deadbolt operating within an internal "F" groove in the bolt wing and therefore cannot be defeated by common tools used to extract cylinder tools. The hinge of the housing pieces is sealed by welding against access.
