Publication number: 20210219761Abstract: A system having a beverage coaster with a receiving coil that can be magnetically coupled or decoupled from a driving coil in a counter, table, bar, and the like. The coaster may be magnetically coupled to the table by moving the coaster into an area where the driving coil generates a magnetic field of sufficient strength. The coaster also includes a switch that activated or deactivated based on its proximity to a magnet in the table. The coaster has a metallic plate on which may be positioned a beverage container. The plate is thermally and mechanically coupled to a Peltier cell or resistance heater that either cools or heats the plate, depending on the state of the switch. A second magnetic switch powers the driving coil only if the coaster is present and aligned with the driving coil.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2021Publication date: July 22, 2021Inventors: Mark Goodson, Christian Ross Goodson

Patent number: 11028528Abstract: A clothes dryer apparatus and system that reduces the buildup of electric charges within a dryer drum by introducing ions. The system monitors the voltage within the drum by taking measurements on voltage sensor assembly. The sensor assembly obtains a voltage when two areas of a fabric, or two separate items of the clothing, contact the sensor. If a threshold voltage is obtained, an ion generator introduces cations and anions into the drum of the dryer to neutralize the static charge of the clothing. The reduction of static electricity increases efficiency as the clothing items do not stick together which permits better heat flow and increases safety by reducing the amount of electrical charge within the drum.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2020Date of Patent: June 8, 2021Inventors: Mark Goodson, David J. Icove

Patent number: 10463582Abstract: Disclosed is a shaving formulation having sesame oil, olive oil, sandalwood oil, broccoli oil, or any combination thereof, which allows for a smooth, non-irritating shave. The disclosed composition is preferably either an aqueous solution or a lotion that does not build up on the skin and preferably has moisturizing, healing, and/or anti-inflammatory properties that prevent or reduce the occurrence of dry skin, irritated/inflamed skin, in-grown hairs, or any combination thereof The disclosed shaving formulations preferably further include anti-microbial properties, anti-septic properties, or any combination thereof. The disclosed shaving formulations have a low viscosity such that the formulations may be applied from spray bottle or a container equipped with an atomizing head in the form of a mist onto a desired bodypart.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2016Date of Patent: November 5, 2019Inventor: Mark Goodson

Patent number: 10276022Abstract: A breathing apparatus having one or more safety sensors that monitor the breathing gas supplied to a ventilation interface for contaminants. Upon detection of a threshold value of a contaminant, the apparatus activates one of more alarms, such as strobe lights, horns and/or piezo buzzers, to waken the user to the dangerous condition. The alarm may also comprise a notification system to first responders.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2017Date of Patent: April 30, 2019Inventor: Mark Goodson

Publication number: 20180186421Abstract: This invention derives both velocity and acceleration (deceleration) of a motor vehicle (typically a motorcycle), and turns on brake lights accordingly. In that motorcyclists balance their vehicles with both feet when stopped at a traffic light, the brake pedal will not be depressed, and thus the brake light may or may not be illuminated, depending upon hand position. This invention senses the stationary vehicle in this case and illuminates the brake light accordingly. Similarly, in that some deceleration activities by motorcyclists are executed by a hard downshift, the vehicle can drastically slow down without activation of the brake light; this sudden deceleration is also sensed by the invention and similarly results in illumination of the brake lights. Sensing of these conditions is carried out by a velocity signal (derived from the motorcycle) or by the incorporation of an internal GPS receiver.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2017Publication date: July 5, 2018Inventors: MARK GOODSON, KEVIN DAVIS

Patent number: 9845177Abstract: A sanitary disposable drinking cup is described. The cup is designed to be grabbed from the top when served, but has a portion of its top circumference that is recessed vertically, so as to create both separate gripping and drinking surfaces so as to allow for serving personnel to handle the cup from the top surface without the necessity of contaminating the drinking surface. The cup is designed to nest so as to accommodate multiple cups being easily stored.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2017Date of Patent: December 19, 2017Inventor: Mark Goodson

Publication number: 20070012472Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for preventing electrically induced gas fires involving Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing (CSST). Connectors for coupling the CSST to gas lines and appliance are affixed at each end of the tubing. These connectors are made of a conductive material such as brass. Conductive ground wire, such as #8 AWG copper, provides a direct electrical contact between the end connectors. The ground wire can be either a single wire or a wire mesh. If an electrical charge goes to ground via the CSST, such as from a lightning strike or an appliance short, the majority of the current is carried by the conductive wire rather than the CSST itself, thus preventing damage to the CSST from the current.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2005Publication date: January 18, 2007Inventor: Mark Goodson
