  • Publication number: 20240125483
Abstract: A cooking exhaust hood system, that has an exhaust hood adapted to be located over at least one cooking appliance and an exhaust fan connected to the exhaust hood, with the exhaust fan having a controllable exhaust air flow volume. A camera monitors a surface of the at least one cooking appliance and provide an image signal representing a visual status of the at least one cooking appliance. An image processing controller is connected to an image database and is configured to receive the image signal and to compare the visual status of the at least one cooking appliance based on the image signal to stored images in the image database. The image processing controller then output a cooking appliance status signal. An exhaust fan controller is provided that is connected to the exhaust fan. • Patent number: 8844972
Abstract: A self laminating wristband separable from a multi-ply page form has a plurality of separated imaging areas, with one larger imaging area for receiving printed data corresponding to the wearer such as his name, i.d. number, etc., with one or more second imaging areas adapted to receive either printed information or markers which may be adhered thereto. The separated imaging areas are aligned along the length of the wristband so that the gap between them acts as a natural hinge point which allows the imaging areas to lie flatter against the wearer's wrist.

  • Patent number: 8776417
Abstract: A business form comprising a face ply and a lamination ply includes a matrix of self adhering labels positioned in a label area and a self laminating wristband positioned in a wristband area, all of which are defined by die cuts therein for removal upon use. The wristband is comprised of a left edge justified, reduced length imaging area releasably adhered to a laminating portion comprising a pair of laminating panels one of which is smaller sized to merely laminate the imaging area and with self adhering tabs at opposite ends of the panels. A wristband extender is die cut into the lamination ply within the profile of the wristband. A second embodiment includes a pair of separated imaging areas in the same space as the single imaging area along with special precautions labels die cut into the lamination ply for application to the second smaller imaging area. The wristband may be provided separately in an envelope sized sheetlet or in a page size form with multiple wristbands but no labels.

  • Publication number: 20130056974
Abstract: A printer processible business form includes a separable wristband formed with a multi-layer, reinforced central panel or imaging area with a pair of straps extending to the sides thereof. The multi-ply wristband may be formed with a single die cut solely in the top ply of a two ply business form which is folded over after having been separated to thereby fashion the multi-ply print or image area. Alternatively, the multi-ply wristband may be formed with a first die cut in the top ply as before, but with a second die cut in a bottom or backer ply to form a backing or reinforcing panel which is adhered to the wristband and when separated thereby forms a multi-ply print area. In another alternative embodiment, the backer panel may be added to the first embodiment so that the panel or image area has three or even four layers of material to provide maximum reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 8109021
Abstract: A wrap around, self laminating wristband comprises a substantially transparent laminate strap with an imaging area for receiving printed information and one or more layers of adhesive adjacent the imaging area so that as the strap is wrapped around itself to overlie the imaging area it laminates it. Alternate embodiments provide for a snap closure to secure the wristband instead of adhesive, forming the imaging area with a coating of a thermally sensitive or active print material, adding one or more labels for common use with the wristband, forming the wristband in a page of multiple wristbands or with labels or separately, forming the wristband as part of a printer processable business form, and providing the wristband forms either with or without labels in a continuous fan fold or roll format.

  • Patent number: 8074389
Abstract: A printer processible wristband has a cinch slot at one end and an imaging area at another, connected with a strap therebetween. The imaging area is shaped like a shovel and the cinch slot is shaped like a ā€œDā€ and sized so that the imaging area interference fits through the cinch slot to thereby join the wristband about the wrist. The imaging area may have one of its ends adhered to the strap to clamp it in place and further secure the wristband or it may be left loose to act as a hang tag. Alternate embodiments are disclosed including providing a self adhering label to attach to the imaging area, providing a layer of laminate to laminate the printed information or label, providing a second imaging area along with a second strap, and providing a snap closure to further attach the wristband.

  • Patent number: 8015086
Abstract: A method and apparatus for calculating employee expenses is disclosed herein. One embodiment of the method may include transferring first data from a first computer to a second computer. The first data causes the second computer to display text, wherein a portion of the text is a first inquiry related to at least one expense item of the employee. Second data is transferred from the second computer to the first computer, wherein the second data is representative of a response to the first inquiry and wherein the second data is smaller than the first data. A second inquiry related to the at least one expense item based on the response to the first inquiry is then determined. Third data representative of the second inquiry is transmitted from the first computer to the second computer. A portion of the text is modified upon receipt of the third data by the second computer, wherein the modified portion of the text is related to the second inquiry.

  • Patent number: 8011125
Abstract: A business form including a wristband is provided with a print area forming a badge, the badge having a length less than and a width greater than a width of either of two straps used to attach the wristband to the wrist, the badge thus having a greater print area to improve the readability of the indicia displayed therein. A business form including a wristband has a bulged rectangularly shaped print area to allow information to be printed transversely across the print area to improve readability of the indicia displayed in the print area. Thus, the bulged rectangularly shaped print area can accommodate one or both of bar codes printed thereon in ladder as well as picket fence fashion. A security seal is disclosed which comprises a small, adhesive coated patch of laminate for sealing the joinder of the wristband ends and which has points of weakness such as X's die cut therein so that it separates or destructs upon removal to provide an indication of tampering with the wristband.

  • Patent number: 7883018
Abstract: A business form such as a wristband or label includes an imaging area of face stock overprinted with a fluorescent ink for receiving a printed bar code to enhance the scannability of the bar code. The ink may be applied by overprinting to a thickness of between about 0.2 to about 0.5 mils, and even more preferably to a thickness of about 0.2 mils. The overprint ink is also print receptive allowing a bar code to be printed onto it with no deleterious effects. The imaging area of the wristband form may be overlaminated and the bar code scannability will still be enhanced. An alternative embodiment comprises a face stock manufactured to have a finished surface exhibiting a fluorescent effect similar to that achieved by overprinting through mixing in appropriate components as the face stock is made.

  • Patent number: 7877915
Abstract: A wristband is assembled from a flexible preferably vinyl carrier and a preferably laminated ID label, the carrier having a panel portion and a strap portion with a snap closure located in a toe extension at the end of the carrier adjacent the panel. The strap has a series of holes, one of which is captured within the snap closure to attach the wristband to the wearer's limb. The laminated ID label has a pair of opposing slots, one of which slips over the strap to abut the panel and the other of which is captured by the snap closure to attach the label to the carrier. The panel portion has a relieved edge formed along its opposing sides which increases the comfort of the wristband as it is worn.
