  • Patent number: 11730933
Abstract: A portable drain system having a subdermal drain and a container in fluid communication with the subdermal drain is disclosed. The subdermal drain is configured to drain fluid from a surgical site. The container provides a negative pressure to the subdermal drain. The container draws and receives the fluid. The container includes at least one sensor in which the at least one sensor is configured to detect at least one of fluid color, fluid volume in the container, and orientation of the container.

  • Patent number: 11439797
Abstract: A container for a portable surgical drain system to receive a fluid from a drain at a surgical site is disclosed. The container includes a drain hub having at least one sensor and a cartridge removably coupled to the drain hub in fluid communication with the drain to provide a suction source to draw and receive the fluid from the surgical site. The at least one sensor detects a characteristic of the fluid in the cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20220160585
Abstract: An apparatus for medication management. The apparatus includes a housing for a packet of medication, a sensor coupled to the housing for sensing whether the packet has been removed or is likely to have been removed from the housing, and a transmitter for wirelessly transmitting data regarding a reading of the sensor to a remote computer. A system for medication management communicates with the apparatus for medication management is provided. The remote computer is configured to send an alert to an external device, and the alert is based on the reading of the sensor. Also, an apparatus for medication management includes a housing for medication, and a sensor for sensing a quantity of medication within the housing. The sensor includes a plurality of conductive electrodes arranged in an interleaved pattern, and provided in a substantially horizontal position. Related systems, methods, techniques and articles are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10729508
Abstract: A tissue expansion device with a plurality of lobes made from non-compliant material, each lobe defining a chamber therein. Each chamber is fluidly isolated from every other chamber in the plurality of lobes. Each chamber has an inflation element with a valve to release a pressurized fluid to inflate the lobe to expand a cavity, and a deflation element with a valve to deflate the lobe by compressing the fluid.
