  • Publication number: 20210155022
Abstract: Thermal transfer printer for selectively transferring a meltable ink material carried on a tape to a substrate intended to receive ink from said tape for printing an image on the substrate, the printer comprising a supply spool for the tape, a take-up spool for the tape, and a printhead between the supply spool and the take-up spool, wherein the supply spool is driven by a supply motor and the take-up spool is driven by a take-up motor, and that the printer comprises a spool drive controller which is configured to energize the supply motor and the take-up motor so as to arrange that the tape is un-wound from the supply spool and wound onto the take-up spool, wherein the spool drive controller is embodied with field oriented control driving the supply motor and the take-up motor so as to continuously and uninterruptedly control motor torque of said motor's.

  • Patent number: 7625979
Abstract: Lithium-terminated polymers of one or more conjugated dienes and of one or more mono alkenyl arenes are coupled by reaction with an alkoxy silane coupling agent having the formula Rx—Si—(OR?)y, where x is 0 or 1, x+y=4, R and R? are the same or different, R is selected from aryl hydrocarbon radicals, linear alkyl hydrocarbon radicals and branched alkyl hydrocarbon radicals, and R? is selected from linear and branched alkyl hydrocarbon radicals, such that the resulting polymer composition contains less than about ten weight percent of uncoupled polymer diblock. The polymer compositions are subsequently selectively hydrogenated, and are useful in a variety of compounds and end use applications.

  • Patent number: 7304113
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for partially and selectively hydrogenating a polymer made of at least a conjugated diene monomer having a vinyl content of from 20 to 65%, comprising a hydrogenation step on a solution of the polymer, characterized in that the hydrogenation step is performed in the presence of an iron-containing catalyst whereby a hydrogenated polymer is obtained wherein the vinyl content is reduced to 5% or less, whereas the content of 1,4-double bonds is maintained at a level of at least 30%.

  • Publication number: 20070185274
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for making a coupled, low vinyl block copolymer composition, comprising the steps of: a) reacting a living lithium-terminated polymer having the formula P-Li, where P is a copolymer chain having at least one polymer block A composed of one or more mono alkenyl arenes having 8 to 18 carbon atoms and at least one polymer block B composed of one or more conjugated dienes having 4 to 12 carbon atoms, with an alkyltrialkoxysilane coupling agent having the formula R—Si—(OR?)3, where R is selected from branched alkyl radicals having from 3 to 12 carbon atoms, and R? is a methyl group, and where the molar ratio of Si to Li is between 0.3 and 1.0, thereby forming a coupled block copolymer composition; and b) recovering the resulting coupled, low vinyl block copolymer composition. The invention also relates to the resulting coupled, low vinyl block copolymer compositions that are free from bromine-containing contaminants.
