  • Publication number: 20220121280
Abstract: The majority of applications for head mounted display (HMD) users, irrespective of whether they are for short-term, long-term, low vision, augmented reality, etc. yield a conflicting set of tradeoffs between user comfort and minimal fatigue and strain during use, ease of attachment, minimizing intrusiveness and aesthetics which must be concurrently balanced with and are often in conflict with providing an optical vision system that provides the user with a wide field of view and high image resolution whilst also offering a large exit pupil for eye placement with sufficient eye clearance. Further, individual users' needs vary as do their needs with the general task at-hand, visual focus, and various regions-of-interest within their field of view. To address these issues, it is necessary to provide a high performance optical system, eyepiece design, and system features which overcome these limitations.

  • Publication number: 20210349322
Abstract: Users exploiting near-to-eye (NR2I) displays for augmented reality and/or correction of low vision are typically wearing these NR2I displays for specific tasks or for extended periods of time, potentially all their time awake. Conflicting tradeoffs between user comfort and minimal fatigue and strain during use, ease of attachment, minimizing intrusiveness and aesthetics should be concurrently balanced with providing an optical vision system that provides the user with a wide field of view, high image resolution, and a large exit pupil for eye placement with sufficient eye clearance. Accordingly, embodiments of the invention provide NR2I displays meeting these conflicts whilst also addressing the inherent variations between user in respect of their head dimensions, head and eye geometry, as well as adapting the displayed content to reflect the user's task at-hand, visual defects or degradations, visual focus and intent upon various regions-of-interest within their field of view.

  • Patent number: 10953302
Abstract: A ring guard is provided as a sleeve with first and second width edges and a length extending between the width edge. The sleeve first width edge is open into an interior of the sleeve. The sleeve first width edge is configured to receive a strap of a gymnastics ring into an interior of the sleeve. The second width edge has a loop. The loop has a distal end with a releasable connector. The loop distal end releasable connector is releasably connectable with the sleeve at the second width edge in a manner such that when the loop is directed through an inner diameter of a gymnastics ring, the loop holds the sleeve in position relative to the gymnastics ring. The sleeve may have releasable connectors to allow the sleeve to be arranged around the gymnastics ring strap with the loop around the gymnastics ring.

  • Patent number: 10939606
Abstract: A scouting system can include an autonomous ground vehicle having a perception sensor and a motion sensor to construct an occupancy grid referenced to a coordinate system of the autonomous ground vehicle. The autonomous ground vehicle is configured to use information from the occupancy grid to detect crop rows in a crop field. The autonomous ground vehicle is configured to identify and classify one or more non-crop plant in-lier objects arranged within the crop rows and generate an output signal received by an external vehicle to cause the external vehicle to perform a task when the one or more non-crop plant in-lier objects are identified within the crop rows.

  • Patent number: 10736048
Abstract: An entity, such as a base station, in a wireless communications network performs power control of a control channel based on one or more characteristics of a message in the control channel. For example, the control channel can be a paging channel. The one or more characteristics include, as examples, the size and/or the type of message in the control channel.

  • Publication number: 20200225486
Abstract: Within applications for Near-to-Eye (NR2I) displays, irrespective of whether they are for short-term, long-term, low vision, augmented reality, etc., there is a conflicting tradeoff between user comfort, ease of attachment, minimizing intrusiveness and aesthetics which must be concurrently balanced with and are often in conflict with providing an optical vision system within the NR2I display that provides the user with a wide field of view and high image resolution whilst also offering a large exit pupil for eye placement with sufficient eye clearance. Embodiments of the invention address these issues and provide a high performance optical system through the design of the optical eyepiece design to overcome these limitations within a bioptic configuration with laterally disposed displays.

  • Patent number: 10712573
Abstract: For users exploiting near-to-eye (NR2I) displays for augmented reality and/or correction of low vision then the user is typically going to wear the immersive or non-immersive NR2I displays for specific tasks, for specific visual environments, etc. and hence there is an issue of repeatedly attaching and removing the NR2I display. Further, in the majority of applications irrespective of whether for short-term, long-term, low vision, augmented reality, etc. there is a conflicting tradeoff between user comfort, ease of attachment, minimizing intrusiveness and aesthetics. Accordingly, a means of pivotably attaching and supporting a NR2I display is provided wherein the pivotable mounts may be permanently attached, attached, or demountably attached to a frame which may include for some user's prescription lenses.

  • Publication number: 20200148601
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for the production of gypsum board using starch pellets. In accordance with the present disclosure, the starch necessary for board formation is provided in the form of starch pellets. These pellets are mixed with a gypsum slurry in a mixer. The pellets are initially insoluble and do not dissolve. However, during subsequent drying stages, the pellets become soluble and dissolve into the gypsum phase. This both provides the desired starch component and also results in the formation of voids within the set gypsum.

  • Publication number: 20190366803
Abstract: An air conditioning system includes a shaft rotated by a motor during operation. A compressor having a compressor wheel, an intake port to receive a gas from an external source, and an output port to provide the gas in a compressed state, is connected to the shaft. A turbine including a turbine wheel, an intake port to receive compressed gas, and an output port to provide the gas in an expanded state, is also connected to the shaft. Energy from expansion of the gas from the turbine drives the rotating shaft, and the rotating shaft turn the compressor wheel in order to compress the gas, which exits through the output port.
