    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer-readable media for defining and implementing an ephemeral portion of a configuration state on a network device that does not persist upon coming up after experiencing a power loss event of the network device. For example, systems disclosed herein include receiving information indicating commands or policies of a configuration state that may be defined as ephemeral. The systems disclosed herein include generating and maintaining an ephemeral definition that includes modes, XPaths, and other identifiers of characteristics and specific command nodes within a hierarchical structure of commands that should be treated as ephemeral when rebooting the network device. The systems described herein provide an effective and convenient tool for defining an ephemeral portion of a configuration state that does not persist when the network device recovers from a power loss event.

    Abstract: Monitoring of cloud computing environments subject to different data control policies is performed in a manner that ensures compliance with the data control policies. A monitoring service is located in a remote cloud computing environment separate from the cloud computing environments being monitored. The monitoring service does not have access to restricted data in the cloud computing environments, including access control data, such that the monitoring service cannot directly interact with network devices. The monitoring service issues requests for monitoring data to device access services in the cloud computing environments. In response to the requests, the device access services obtain access control data to access the network devices and obtain the requested data, which is returned to the monitoring service.

    Abstract: A process for fractionation of dairy whey is described which enables various whey constituents, in particular, alpha-lactalbumin and beta-lactoglobulin, to be recovered in substantially pure form. Lactose may also be recovered. The mineral content of raw whey is reduced so that the calcium content is less than 120 parts per million. Thereafter, the whey is treated to allow the lactose to crystallize out for removal and selectively to flocculate the alpha-lactalbumin, leaving a liquor containing substantially pure beta-lactoglobulin.
