  • Publication number: 20240279706
Abstract: The present invention is related to a novel process for production of retinyl acetate in a host cell, particularly oleaginous yeast such as e.g. Yarrowia, wherein the product purity could be increased with reduction of unwanted side-products. Particularly, the novel process comprises fermentation in the presence of ethanol, such as e.g. in a fed-batch fermentation process. Such process is especially useful in a biotechnological process for production of vitamin A.

  • Publication number: 20230030835
Abstract: This disclosure provides a composition and a method for enhancing urolithin B production. As a result of this, due to known impact of urolithin B, this can enhance reverse cholesterol transport and HDL function and management of plasma lipid profile through enhanced production of urolithin B from pomegranate polyphenols by administering a composition comprising a synergistic mixture of pomegranate polyphenols, lycopene and quercetin. The improved HDL function and lipid profile of such composition may be attributed to the enhanced urolithin B production made possible by the combination. Increasing the levels of urolithin B through modulation of the intestinal microbiome metabolism of pomegranate polyphenols is a potential therapeutic target for managing these diseases.

  • Patent number: 9421547
Abstract: A jaw crusher having a fixed jaw and a swing jaw disposed between opposing side walls of the jaw crusher. The swing jaw is movable relative to the fixed jaw for generating impelling forces to crush material present between the two jaws. The jaw crusher includes a cross beam which extends between the opposing side walls and a toggle plate is provided between a rear face of the swing jaw and the cross beam. Pressure cylinders are provided for applying a load to the cross beam, to provide a reaction to forces generated during movement of the swing jaw. The jaw crusher comprises a locking arrangement for selectively preventing substantial movement of the cross beam against the action of the pressure cylinders.

  • Publication number: 20070111892
Abstract: This invention discloses a new class of pH indicators suitable for use in agricultural compounds. The class comprises naturally occurring substances which are extracts from grape skins, cabbage and lecithin. Safety concerns are now causing regulatory bodies to prohibit use of chemical pH indicators in compounds which are used for crops and animals. The naturally occurring compounds of this invention satisfy these concerns of the regulators and function as well as chemical indicators of the prior art.

  • Patent number: 4721180
Abstract: The invention is a deployment system for a marine seismic source array. A plurality of sources are suspended at different depths from a float. The system is adapted for deploying the float and the sources into the water and retrieving them for reloading onto the vessel. When the float is positioned on the water surface the sources sink to preselected water depths. The sources are retracted to the underside of the float in the retrieval process.
