  • Publication number: 20240103156
Abstract: A system and method for satellite imaging are provided. The system includes a first satellite, a trailing satellite, and a ground terminal. The first satellite acquires synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image data in a first predetermined signal frequency band at a first imaging location and transmits the SAR image data to a ground terminal. The ground terminal determines a second imaging location from the SAR image data and transmits the second imaging location to the trailing satellite. The trailing satellite acquires higher resolution image data in a second predetermined signal frequency band at the second imaging location and transmits the image data to the ground terminal. Systems and methods for satellite imaging are also provided in which a first satellite captures image data and processes the image data onboard to generate a processed product which is transmitted to a receiving terminal at a ground terminal or on a second satellite.

  • Patent number: 7916880
Abstract: An inertial force transducer having an operative frequency range comprises a resonant element having a frequency distribution of modes in the operative frequency range of the transducer and a coupler for mounting the resonant element to a site to which force is to be applied. The resonant element is a piezoelectric device comprising a layer of piezoelectric material and a substrate layer on the layer of piezoelectric material. The substrate layer has a region extending beyond the piezoelectric layer, with the coupler mounted to the extended region whereby the low frequency performance of the transducer is extended.

  • Patent number: 7571831
Abstract: A mop bucket system includes a liquid-retaining portion and an energy-dissipation device. The liquid-retaining portion is configured to retain liquid. It has a bottom wall portion, a first sidewall portion, a second sidewall portion facing the first sidewall portion, a third sidewall portion, and a fourth sidewall portion facing the third sidewall portion. The liquid-retaining portion permits retained liquid to move in a liquid-movement direction extending from the first sidewall portion toward the second sidewall portion within a higher-momentum region having a width that is approximately 70% of a distance between the third sidewall portion and the fourth sidewall portion. The energy-dissipation device is disposed within the liquid-retaining portion and extends into the higher-momentum region.

  • Patent number: 7475598
Abstract: An electromechanical force transducer comprises at least two adjacent resonant elements and a damping layer coupled between their adjacent faces. The damping layer is selected so that the output is increased in the region of internal cancellation in the transducer. The adjacent resonant elements are beam-like and have substantially the same length. The resonant elements may be supported on a stub of low rotational stiffness whereby the fundamental resonance of the transducer becomes less dependent on bending motion of the transducer and more rigid body-like. The transducer may also include a member for increasing the rotational impedance of the transducer.
