Abstract: Systems and techniques to wirelessly provide audio in a spa. A system includes an audio system coupled with a spa, and a wireless communication system communicably coupled with the audio system and with a remote audio source, wherein the wireless communication system provides audio signals from the remote audio source to the audio system, and a volume of the audio system is controlled locally at the spa without affecting a volume indication at the remote audio source.

Abstract: A peripheral device for a spa makes use of inductance for power and/or control. In an embodiment, a peripheral device includes a magnetic field source positioned in a region on an externally facing side of a spa shell and configured to generate a first magnetic field. The peripheral device includes a peripheral module, such as a light or other feature. The module includes an inductor configured to generate a second magnetic field based on the first magnetic field, a converter configured to convert the second magnetic field into a current, and a peripheral feature configured to be powered by the current.

A system includes a spa, and a speaker coupled with an exterior surface of the spa in proximity to a location where a spa cover resides when on the spa, the speaker being useable in connection with the spa cover without interference between the spa cover and the speaker.

Abstract: A curvilinear spa frame apparatus and method that provides support to a curvilinear spa shell design, including a frame comprising a top curvilinear rail, a bottom curvilinear rail, and one or more box sections aligned to be within the confines of the curvilinear spa shell providing stiffness for the completed frame. The box sections can include sheets that align with corresponding notches in the curvilinear spa frame increasing rigidity and facilitating alignment of the spa frame components during assembly.

The switching assembly includes an actuator that is mounted on an interior surface of the shell and is exposed at least in part to water held by the shell. The actuator may be mounted above or below the water line. The switching assembly also includes a switch that is responsive to the actuator and is mounted on the opposite, exterior surface of the shell. The switch responds to stimulus from the actuator without the need to form a hole in the shell between the switch and the actuator. The actuator may include a magnet that produces a magnetic field, and the switch may include a reed switch, which changes state in response to the absence or presence of the magnetic field generated by the actuator magnet. The magnet may be supported by a button attached to the shell, and the button protects the magnet from exposure to water and chemicals held in the shell.

Abstract: A vortex tube cooling system is presented. The cooling system contains one or more vortex tubes connected to a supply of compressed gas, the vortex tubes providing a stream of cold gas which cools product as it emerges from a furnace. The cooling system is particularly useful for cooling circuit boards emerging from a solder reflow convection furnace.
