Publication number: 20170049474Abstract: A trocar or surgical port assembly includes an annular body attachable to a patient at an incision in a patient. The annular body includes a cylindrical insert portion defining a proximal end and a distal end and a flange disposed at the proximal end of the cylindrical insert portion. A skirt is attached to the distal end of the cylindrical insert portion and extends distally from the annular body and includes a flexible web and a wire attached to the flexible web that in a multiple looped configuration of non-intersecting curved portions positioned in the vicinity of the distal portion of the skirt to enable the flexible web to be biased via a biasing force exerted by the wire into a funnel-shaped open configuration having an opening of the skirt at the distal portion of the skirt that is larger than an opening of the skirt at the proximal portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2016Publication date: February 23, 2017Inventors: Gregory Piskun, Oleg Shikhman, Christopher Battles, Patrick N. Patent number: 9492311Abstract: An intrauterine device for applying force to a wall of a uterus to promote contraception without blocking the fallopian tubes may include an elongate member formed of a resilient material and having a default expanded configuration and a spring portion disposed approximately at a midpoint between two ends of the elongate member. The IUD may also include two tissue contact members, one tissue contact member disposed at one of the two ends of the elongate member and the other tissue contact member disposed at the other end. The tissue contact members may generate a laterally directed force against the wall of the uterus when the intrauterine device assumes its default expanded configuration.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2014Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Assignees: Yale University, ContraMed, LLCInventors: Michael G. Tal, Patrick N. Gutelius, Mark J. DeBisschop, Oleg Shikhman, Pasquale Patrizio, Bob H. Katz

Patent number: 5560257Abstract: An intermediate shaft consisting of a solid inner shaft member slidable within a tube member. A C-shaped connecting member or clip is inserted into a pair of opposed holes in tube member. The ends of connecting member engage a shoulder on the shaft member to prevent the two portions (the shaft member and the tube member) of the intermediate member from disengaging. The shaft member and the tube member are slidable relative to one another to accommodate movement of the front axle and the steering gear mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1994Date of Patent: October 1, 1996Assignee: The Torrington CompanyInventors: Mark J.
