  • Patent number: 5737810
Abstract: A side release buckle has a female member and a male member which includes a central post that is received in a channel of the female member and a pair of spaced somewhat parallel flexible engagement or latching arms having protuberances or heads that have crescent shaped latching shoulders. The arms flex inwardly as they enter an opening into a cavity of the female member and then outwardly when the heads are aligned with the side aperture at which the crescent shaped shoulders engage surfaces of the side walls of the female member adjacent these apertures. The crescent shaped shoulders supply increased bearing area capable of resisting more efficiently the linear and torsional loads normally encountered by side released buckles.

  • Patent number: 5590444
Abstract: A releasable buckle is provided having a male member and female member. The male member includes a base having first and second sides, an end surface therebetween, at least one resilient spring arm extending from the end surface and at least one portion adjacent the first side extending from the base. The female member includes a top and bottom wall and a channel disposed therebetween and an opening exposing the cavity for receiving the male member. The female member further includes means complimentary in shape and position to the portion for receiving the portion. The portion extending from the male member and the means for receiving the male member together constitute an interlocking key system which functions to distribute the stress from the loads to the top and bottom walls of the female member.

  • Patent number: 5584105
Abstract: A quick disconnect buckle includes a female member with opposed side openings and a lateral opening and a male member with longitudinally extending arms and an intermediate bar that includes a lug that engages with the lateral opening. Camming surfaces on the arms and side openings causing the arms to cam against the bar to thereby lift the lug out of the lateral opening to free the male member from the female member.

  • Patent number: 5383426
Abstract: A dog harness has a collar having a front ring and at least one ring located at its free ends. A releasable buckle functions to releasably couple the collar free ends. A cord passes through the front ring and forms a pair of loops for disposition in the foreleg pits of a dog. A fastener at a cord free end releasably secures this end which cord is also adapted to be coupled permanently with a leash. A strain on the leash and harness caused by the dog will exert pressure to the foreleg pits which will result in the dog reacting to decrease this pressure.

  • Patent number: 5379496
Abstract: A cord release buckle includes a cylindrical female member with a central bore and diametrically opposed openings and a cylindrical male member having a pair of spring arms having a hooked head at their free ends. The male member is adapted to be inserted into the female member until the heads of the spring arms snap into the opposed openings to releasably latch the male member to the female member. Several different termination arrangements serve to receive and anchor the ends of cord.

  • Patent number: 5325819
Abstract: A dog harness has a collar having a front ring and rings at each of its free ends. A releasable buckle functions to releasably couple the collar free ends. A cord passes through the rings and forms a pair of loops for disposition in the foreleg pits of a dog. A ring and fastener at the cord free ends releasably couples these ends with the ring and is also adapted to be coupled with a leash. • Patent number: 5144725
Abstract: A buckle is provided which includes a male portion and a female portion. The male portion includes inwardly deformable spring arms with detent protuberances. The detent protuberances engage detent apertures within detent recesses on lateral sides of the female portion. Lateral release guards are formed so as to shield the detent protuberances from being inadvertently depressed thereby releasing the male portion from the female portion. The lateral release guards include two portions meeting at an angle thereby forming a point of flexure. An internal rotatable locking assembly within the female portion can be rotated or a wedge can be slid within a channel so as to prevent the depression of the spring arms thereby locking the male and female portions to each other.

  • Patent number: 5127137
Abstract: A universal swivel hook includes a U-shaped member with a bowed base to resist longitudinal forces from a web, and a hook arrangement coupled to the U-shaped member for connection to a hoop. The hook and U-shape member are connected to allow swiveling along two orthogonal axes. The U-shaped member also includes stop to limit the longitudinal movement of the web to avoid bunching of the web.

  • Patent number: 5123153
Abstract: A sliding bar buckle is provided with a grip base with an inwardly facing toothed surface. A strap retainer moves within transverse slots on legs formed integrally with said grip base so that a complementary toothed surface on the strap retainer engages the inwardly facing toothed surface so as to engage a variable position strap therebetween. Connecting bars are additionally formed between said arms to engage a fixed position strap.
