  • Patent number: 9435273
Abstract: A fuel selector for use with a dual fuel generator includes a selector plate, a first fuel valve assembly positioned adjacent the selector plate and actuatable between an ON position and an OFF position to selectively control a first fuel flow to an engine of the dual fuel generator, and a second fuel valve assembly positioned adjacent the selector plate and actuatable between an ON position and an OFF position to selectively control a second fuel flow to the engine of the dual fuel generator. A selector switch coupled to the selector plate is linearly translatable from a first position to a second position, so as to enable positioning of only one of the first fuel valve assembly and the second fuel valve assembly in the ON position at a given time, such that the first and second fuel valve assemblies cannot be in the ON position concurrently.

  • Patent number: 9322371
Abstract: A system and method for engaging a slide-in mountable fuel pump assembly with a fan cover of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The fuel pump assembly includes a fuel pump configured to pump fuel from a fuel source to the engine and a mounting bracket affixed to or formed integrally with the fuel pump and configured to slidingly engage a fan cover of the engine so as to enable selective mounting and removal of the fuel pump assembly to and from the fan cover. The mounting bracket further includes a main plate affixed to or formed integrally with the fuel pump and a track formed on each of opposing sides of the main plate, with the track configured to slidingly engage a mating feature formed on the fan cover of the engine so as to selectively mount the fuel pump assembly to the fan cover.

  • Publication number: 20150322882
Abstract: A cylinder head and push rod tube configuration for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The cylinder head includes a first end comprising a recessed rocker arm cavity. The cylinder head also includes a second end opposite the first end and defining an upper end of a combustion chamber. The recessed rocker arm cavity has a lower surface with a pair of push rod tube bores therethrough. The second end of the cylinder head has a pair of push rod tubes positioned in the push rod tube bores between the recessed rocker arm cavity and the second end. An intake port and an exhaust port each extend through the cylinder head to the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 5669794
Abstract: A motor mount for attaching a motor, such as a trolling motor, to a boat includes a bracket, a pair of pivotable support arms and a motor support. The bracket may be removably attached to the transom or to the bow of a boat. The bracket, the support arms and the motor support form a 4-bar linkage that permits the motor to be moved between a fully deployed or lowered position and a fully stowed or raised position. As the motor is moved between the deployed and stowed positions, it moves through a first, generally vertical translation phase of motion during which it maintains a generally vertical orientation, and a second, generally pivotal phase, in which it is rotated from the generally vertical orientation to a generally horizontal orientation. An intermediate stowed position is provided just beyond a transition point between the two phases of motion.

  • Patent number: 5504417
Abstract: An engine-driven generator includes an internal combustion engine, a permanent magnet alternator and an AC to AC converter. The output frequency and voltage of the permanent magnet alternator are largely dependent on engine speed and the alternator load. The AC to AC converter converts the speed-dependent alternating potential developed by the alternator to another alternating potential whose frequency and voltage are largely independent of engine speed. Voltage regulation is provided by varying the engine speed in accordance with the load current. Frequency regulation is provided by frequency dividing the alternator output by an integer divisor that varies in accordance with engine speed. Additional voltage regulation is provided by deleting selected cycles of the alternator output current as needed to maintain the RMS output voltage within predetermined limits.
