  • Publication number: 20230292070
Abstract: An auditory function screening device includes a controller, a speaker, a microphone, an actuator, a display, a communication engine, and a memory. The speaker generates tones of each frequency of a set of test frequencies. The microphone detects ambient noise. The actuator initiates an auditory function screening test. The display displays an indication corresponding to a total number of generated tones. The communication engine communicates with an external computing device. The memory stores executable instructions that implement the auditory function screening test, which includes: detecting an ambient noise amplitude, determining a gain adjustment, generating a predetermined number of tones of each frequency of the set of test frequencies at a predetermined gain level based on the gain adjustment, presenting an indication corresponding to the total number of generated tones, and causing a use counter to be incremented.

  • Patent number: 10958633
Abstract: A first computing device is provided for transmitting one or more volumes via a secured connection. The first computing device includes a controller that is executable by one or more processors and is configured to instruct a cloud computing device to generate a worker virtual machine. The controller is also configured to provide authentication information to facilitate establishing of the secured connection between the controller and the worker virtual machine. The controller is further configured to instruct the cloud computing device to generate one or more target volumes associated with the cloud computing service and to associate the one or more target volumes with the worker virtual machine. The controller is further instructed to provide, irrespective of the content type of the volumes and the size of the volumes, the one or more volumes to the worker virtual machine via the secured connection.

  • Patent number: 8042165
Abstract: A server transmits to a server in a server farm a request for membership in the server farm and a first nonce. The server derives a Kerberos service ticket and a Kerberos authenticator, responsive to generating a hash of the server farm name, a passphrase, the name of the server, the name of the server in the server farm, the first nonce, and a second nonce. The server transmits the Kerberos service ticket and the Kerberos authenticator to the server in the server farm. The server in the server farm authenticates the requesting server responsive to the received Kerberos service ticket and the Kerberos authenticator and a generated hash. The server in the server farm transmits, responsive to the authentication, a secret to the requesting server.
