    Abstract: An example method for zero touch deployment of multi-tenant services in a home network environment is provided and includes receiving router configuration information of a home router located in a home network, the router configuration information including at least one slice setting for a service deployment at the home router, and configuring the slice setting on the home router for the service from a remote network separate from the home network. The slice setting can logically divide the home router to enable separation of the service from other services provisioned and configured on the home router. In specific embodiments, the method further includes receiving a request for the service from a service user entity, sending a slice provisioning request to a router manager for provisioning the service in the home router, and receiving a slice provisioned response comprising the router configuration information from the router manager.

    Abstract: Methods and devices allowing distribution of content that resides in a source device on a local area network (LAN) are described. A gateway between the LAN and a wide area network (WAN) receives from a sink device a request for an instance of content. The request is sent over the WAN. Distribution of the item of content within the LAN uses a first digital rights management (DRM) protocol that prevents the item of content from being distributed outside the LAN. For the item of content, the gateway converts from the first DRM protocol to a second DRM protocol that can be used for transmitting content over the WAN. The item of content can then be forwarded to the sink device according to the second DRM protocol.

An initialization file is used for storing data concerning a resource including a current maximum resource reservation for multimedia traffic. The user is presented the current maximum resource reservation, preferably in a graphical user interface to allow the user to adjust the resource reservation to a new maximum resource reservation in the initialization file. One preferred graphical user interface presents a range of resource reservations is represented as a scale and the current maximum resource reservation as a point on the scale. The resource reservation is used by the operating system or other software for reserving a portion of the resource. The remainder of the resource is allocated to normal traffic.

Data elements having the preselected qualities of service are transferred from service channels of another such layer. One, a system and method are provided for use between layer N+1 and layer N, wherein elements from two or more service channels from N+1 are transferred to one or more service channels in layer N such that a preselected quality of service is provided for the elements being transferred.

    Abstract: A multimedia computer system for scheduling and coordinating distributed multimedia resources is disclosed. The scheduling and coordinating are accomplished by the operation of an algorithm in the memory of a number of networked computers. The processor, under the control of the algorithm, creates, accesses, modifies and stores a plurality of data structures in a file on a non-volatile store such as a disk. The data structures store user inputs defining the parameters associated with multimedia sessions and the scheduling information necessary to support the requirements of the sessions with a specific Quality Of Service (QOS). This information is stored on each of the computers participating in the electronic meeting for subsequent use in scheduling and implementing the sessions via an Open System Interconnect (OSI) network for example.
