  • Publication number: 20240295115
Abstract: Device, systems, and methods for secure attachment and alignment of modular building units. The system includes one or more lock brackets on a first modular building unit and one or more receiver brackets on a second modular building unit. The lock brackets include a lock bracket protrusion. The lock bracket protrusion includes a locking tab having a locking tab profile including an aligning portion and a locking portion. The receiver brackets include an alignment hole. The lock bracket protrusion is inserted into the alignment hole as the second modular building unit is lowered onto the first modular building unit. The receiver brackets slide vertically and laterally along the aligning portion and the locking portion as the lock bracket protrusion is inserted into the alignment hole. The locking portion prevents vertical movement of the second modular building unit without a corresponding lateral movement.

  • Publication number: 20240011283
Abstract: A connector system for interconnecting vertically adjacent and/or laterally adjacent modular units of a building constructed from such modular units assembled rigidly together includes connectors that are rigidly attached to the modular units. These connectors are able to rigidly interlock with each other so that, when the connectors of adjacent modular units are interlocked with each other, the adjacent modular units are also rigidly attached to each other. The connectors include sliding alignment features that ensure that resist lateral displacement of laterally adjacent modular units and also ensure proper alignment of vertically-engaging retention features that resist vertical displacement of vertically adjacent modular units.

  • Publication number: 20230407642
Abstract: A system (10) for covering an exterior external surface of a building includes cladding alignment features attached to the external surface of the building according to a predetermined pattern and cladding panels (100). Each cladding panel includes a structural frame (130), a substrate (110) attached to a first, external, surface of the structural frame, and fasteners (200) that are formed on a second, internal, surface of the structural frame. The fasteners are arranged according to the same predetermined pattern as the cladding alignment features, such that each of fasteners can be aligned with and attached to a corresponding one of the cladding alignment features. Each of the fasteners is attachable to a corresponding one of the plurality of cladding alignment features. The building is formed from multiple modular units assembled together. Each of the plurality of cladding panels is affixed to one or more of the modular units.
