Publication number: 20100004549Abstract: The present disclosure includes a system and method of detecting LQTS in a patient by comparing a collected set of ECG data from the patient to a plurality of databases of collected ECG data. The plurality of databases will include a database containing previous ECGs from the patient, a known acquired LQTS characteristics database, and a known genetic LQTS characteristics database. Comparing the patients ECG to these databases will facilitate the detection of such occurrences as changes in QT interval from success of ECGs, changes in T-wave morphology, changes in U-wave morphology and can match known genetic patterns of LQTS. The system and method is sensitive to patient gender and ethnicity, as these factors have been shown to effect LQTS, and is furthermore capable of matching a QT duration to a database of drug effects. The system and method is also easily integrated into current ECG management systems and storage devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2009Publication date: January 7, 2010Applicant: General Electric CompanyInventors: Mark Kohls, Gordon Ian Rowlandson, Joel Xue

Publication number: 20080082015Abstract: A pre-conditioned ECG system and method includes a patient signaling device configured to alert the patient to minimize the patient's activity so that an ECG measurement may be taken, and further alerts the patient when the measurement is completed. The pre-conditioned ECG system and method also includes a pre-set buffer configured to hold a preset length of ECG data, and further configured to hold pre-set ECG parameters such as mean R-R interval, standard deviation of R-R interval, or simple rhythm analysis. The system and method may analyze the current 10 seconds of ECG data when the preset parameters are met or when selected parameters are met.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2006Publication date: April 3, 2008Inventors: Mark Kohls, Gordon Ian Rowlandson, Joel Q.
