  • Publication number: 20230410620
Abstract: An area monitoring system is provided that allows flexible definitions of activity zones for activating a camera by using articulated motion detectors defining fields-of-view as subsets of the camera field-of-view. First and second motion detectors may be mounted on an escutcheon on opposite sides of the camera such that the first and second motion detectors may swivel independently of one another and of the camera.

  • Publication number: 20230410619
Abstract: An area monitoring system is provided that allows flexible definitions of activity zones for activating a camera by using articulated motion detectors. An alignment tool is provided allowing independently positionable fields-of-view of the motion detectors to be aligned to produce a contiguous sensing region when desired. The camera and motion detectors may be part of a camera/floodlight assembly. The monitoring system could include two or more such assemblies and/or other monitoring and/or imaging devices or assemblies such as a stand-alone surveillance camera, a video doorbell, smoke detectors, etc.

  • Patent number: 6438227
Abstract: A mechanically adjustable acoustic filter for a telephone handset earpiece can be adjusted for users with normal hearing or for hearing-impaired users. The acoustic filter includes an enclosure and at least two plates within the enclosure. Each plate has a plurality of holes of a particular diameter. The two plates are capable of being displaced relative to each other, such that an aggregate size of the holes vary as the plates are displaced. The variations in the aggregate size of the holes changes the frequency response of the acoustic filter.
