  • Patent number: 5594610
Abstract: A circuit interruption apparatus for a power circuit having a power source and a load includes a termination mechanism for interconnection with the power source and the load; a circuit interrupter having a line terminal and a load terminal for interrupting the power circuit between the power source and the load; and a pivot mechanism for pivoting the circuit interrupter between a first position wherein the line terminal and the load terminal are interconnected with the termination mechanism, and a second position wherein one of the line terminal and the load terminal is disconnected from the termination mechanism. Alternatively, a circuit interruption apparatus for the power circuit may include a line termination mechanism for interconnection with the power source; a circuit interrupter having a line terminal and a load termination mechanism for interconnection with the load; and a pivot mechanism for pivoting the circuit interrupter between the first position and the second position.

  • Patent number: 4809400
Abstract: Security hardware for an exterior entry door in which a flat piece of metal is bent into a J-shaped door jamb mounted component and in which an aperture through which a door mounted article of hardware can project is provided in the single layer part an aligned buck pin apertures are provided in the double layer part of the component. A buck pin having a head portion and a grooved portion spaced therefrom is also provided as is a slotted retaining member that when positioned between the double layer of the component engages the grooved portion of the buck pin to prevent its removal from the buck pin apertures.

  • Patent number: 4771506
Abstract: A hinge-like device for securing the hinge side of a door against "kick-ins." The device comprises a jamb leaf that extends outside the area protected by a closed door so that a buck pin projecting through the extended portion can engage the strongest part of the wall structure. A cover plate is provided to prevent access to and removal of the buck pin, and the cover plate is itself irremovable because its mounting screws are shielded by a closed door. A door leaf secured to the inner surface of the door is loosely fitted to the jamb leaf.

  • Patent number: 4708004
Abstract: A bicycle lock mounted on the bicycle which can be quickly actuated by a rider to immobilize the bicycle and prevent its being ridden away by a thief who has demanded surrender of the bicycle. The lock includes a manually operated member on the handlebar of the bicycle which is connected by a cable to the actual locking mechanism which when actuated immediately prevents a rotating member, e.g., a wheel, from rotating. The locking member, once removed to a locking position, can only be restored to a non-locking position when a key operated member is actuated to permit such restoration.

  • Patent number: 4679418
Abstract: A cylinder operated deadbolt lock in which a solid housing is provided with bores and apertures only to accommodate the lock components, such as the lock cylinder, the lock bolt, and the bolt moving mechanism. The lock bolt is thrown and withdrawn by a pinion bolt moving mechanism which engages a rack formed on the bolt. The lock is further provided with a drill resistant guard plate which is mounted in the housing and protects the lock cylinder against drilling.

  • Patent number: 4656691
Abstract: An improved hinge for supporting a door on a door jamb wherein the jamb leaf of the hinge is provided with an extended part having a buck pin that is offset from that part of the leaf aligned with a door edge so that the pin is insertable in an aperture provided in the strongest part of the wall behind the door jamb. The jamb leaf is secured to the door jamb by screws located at the extended part of the leaf, i.e., outside the area covered by a closed door, and a protective cover is provided to prevent access to the screws after the leaf is secured to the door jamb.
