Patent number: 12020132Abstract: A plurality of initial machine learning models are determined based on a plurality of original features. The plurality of initial machine learning models are filtered by selecting a subset of the initial machine learning models as one or more surviving machine learning models. One or more evolved machine learning models are generated. At least one of the evolved machine learning models is based at least in part on one or more new features, which are based at least in part on a transformation of at least one of features of the one or more surviving machine learning models. Corresponding validation scores associated with the one or more evolved machine learning models and corresponding validation scores associated with the one or more surviving machine learning models are compared. At least one of the one or more evolved machine learning models or the one or more surviving machine learning models are selected as one or more new selected surviving machine learning models.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2022Date of Patent: June 25, 2024Assignee: H2O.ai Inc.Inventors: Arno Candel, Dmitry Larko, Srisatish Ambati, Prithvi Prabhu, Mark Landry, Jonathan C. Publication number: 20100032949Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and system for altering the drag force on a wind capturing structure. First, the present disclosure implements a new bridle system. Mainline 70 attaches to the bridle of kite 72, which consists of two bridle lines 74 and 76 joined at single point 78 at the top of the kite, and two separate points 80 and 82 at either side of the bottom of the kite. Mainline 70 wraps around the two bridle lines with sliding mechanism 84; sliding mechanism 84 may be able to slide up and down the bridle lines 74 and 76 like a bolo. The present disclosure also presents unpowered, automatic, and powered sliding mechanisms which may alter the lift and drag forces on the wind capturing structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2009Publication date: February 11, 2010Applicant: CMNA PowerInventors: Craig Varrichio, Mark Landry, Anthony Varrichio

Publication number: 20100032956Abstract: A system for harnessing power from wind using a wind capturing structure. An axis of rotation could be central to the system, and the lines could rotate around this axis. Features for the wind capturing structure include effective downwind power generation using a durable, lightweight, inexpensive structure that may be safe in the event of a crash, and easily modified to reduce drag for retraction. The capturing structure creates lift in a low altitude environment, capable of operating in high wind conditions. The lines include minimal mass to permit lift at low altitudes, and are constructed with maximum tensile strength to prevent failure in high winds. A versatile wind capturing structure could include a kite operable in variable conditions for efficient and consistent production of force. The power producing cycle of a system capturing power from wind should maximize the efficiency of the system.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2008Publication date: February 11, 2010Applicant: CMNA POWERInventors: Craig Varrichio, Mark Landry, Anthony Varrichio

Patent number: 6780286Abstract: A process, and an apparatus, for improving sheet properties in the initial impingement zone of a paper making machine including a forming section, a forming fabric moving in the machine direction and a head box having a head box slice which delivers a stock jet onto the moving forming fabric. The scale and intensity of agitation within the stock is adjusted by adjusting some of the support elements beneath the forming fabric adjacent the head box slice so that they either contact, or do not contact, the machine side surface of the forming fabric and observing the effect, if any, that the adjustment has on the quality of the sheet product being made on the paper making machine. This technique is of use in a papermaking machine forming section having a single open surface forming fabric, in the initial open surface section of a so-called hybrid gap former having two superposed forming fabrics, and in the forming section of a two fabric papermaking machine.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2002Date of Patent: August 24, 2004Assignee: AstenJohnson, Inc.Inventors: Roy Van Essen, Mark Landry, Richard Pitt
