Patent number: 11418757Abstract: Video communications of residents of a controlled-environment facility are monitored to detect instances of inappropriate behavior within the video, such as nudity. Residents may participate in live video visitation sessions with non-residents. Video recordings are generated for each video feed of the live video visitation. During the live video visitation, indications of inappropriate behavior displayed in the live video are detected. If indications of inappropriate behavior are detected in the live video, the recorded video is annotated to specify the locations of the detected indications in the recording. Upon completion of the video visitation session, post-processing of the recorded video detects additional indications of inappropriate behavior. The additional indications may be detected at proximal locations to the annotations and may be detected based on sampling frames of the recording to detect changes in the occurrence of pixels having a skin tone color.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2020Date of Patent: August 16, 2022Assignee: Securus Technologies, LLCInventors: Isaac Parampottil, Mark Lester, Amit Kumar Shrivastava, Scott Passe

Patent number: 11228638Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention for maintaining network data distribution are provided. Network data may be distributed in such as manner as to allow a network session to weather interrupted communications between host and clients without significant loss of data. Embodiments of the present invention provide for one or more clients to serve as backup host(s) for the network session. When the other clients transmit data to the host, they may also transmit the data to one or more backup hosts if there are any indications of interrupted communication.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2020Date of Patent: January 18, 2022Assignee: SONY INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT LLCInventors: Mark Lester Jacob, Ronald Joseph Roy, Adam Pierce Harris

Patent number: 11082666Abstract: In some examples, a security camera may be inserted into an executing content item, such as a multi-player video game. The security camera may be associated with a particular participant, such as a player, of the video game or other content item. In some examples, image data, such as video data, associated with the security camera may be rendered by one or more components that are remote from the associated participant, such as one or more remote servers. The remotely rendered security camera image data may then be transmitted to the participant over one or more communications networks, such as by using streaming content delivery techniques. Also, in some examples, audio data associated with the security camera may also be remotely rendered and transmitted in combination with the security camera image data.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2015Date of Patent: August 3, 2021Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Mark Lester Florentino, Francis Xavier Surjo-Subagio

Patent number: 10728383Abstract: Controlled-environment facility resident pattern electronic communication detection systems and methods may employ a controlled-environment facility secure communication platform, an investigative data aggregation and analysis system, and/or the like. Controlled-environment facility individual resident outgoing electronic communication velocity is monitored. The individual resident outgoing electronic communication velocity may be the number of electronic communications placed by a controlled-environment facility resident, to telephone numbers and/or electronic communication addresses over a period of time.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2019Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Assignee: Securus Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Isaac Parampottil, Christopher Barrett Bruton, Mark Lester, David McTee

Patent number: 9433866Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and techniques for adjustment of game parameters based on users' performance are described. During play of a game, a user's performance is monitored. It is then determined if the player's performance is within a desired range of performance, and game parameters are adjusted if the user's performance is outside the desired range. In a multi-player game, parameters can be adjusted differently for each of the players to make the overall game play more competitive.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2015Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: Sony Interactive Entertainment America LLCInventor: Mark Lester Jacob
