  • Patent number: 11999534
Abstract: A composite closure which includes an improved sealing gasket material and shape. The Closure includes an end panel that is received in a circular plastic fitment having a central opening therein defined by an inwardly extending flange which over-lies in an outer periphery of the end panel and an integral skirt downwardly depending from the flange. The fitment includes an inwardly extending circumferential bead or bead segments which include a substantially non-deformable flat vertical surfaces that are substantially parallel to the axis of the closure and axially positioned to contact the radial outer-most edge of the end panel when the closure is fully applied to a container. The sealing gasket has the shape of an annulus with a particular cross-section and formed from a PVC free material.

  • Publication number: 20240135963
Abstract: In an approach to improve write transducers a write transducer for recording data on a magnetic media is disclosed. The write transducer comprises a first pole piece. The write transducer further comprises a second pole piece. The first pole piece and the second pole piece are arranged in such a way, that a write gap is formed between the first pole piece and the second pole piece. A longitudinal axis is defined between opposite ends of the write gap. A length of the write gap along the longitudinal axis varies in the direction transverse to the longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20240127084
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for a joint prediction and improvement framework for machine learning models are provided herein. A method includes obtaining a machine learning model initialized with a set of parameters; identifying one or more actions based on test inputs corresponding to the machine learning model and historical actions related to a task, where the historical actions are dependent on respective historical outputs of the machine learning model; using the identified one or more actions to jointly compute: one or more first values corresponding to inference loss for the machine learning model; and one or more second values based at least in part on a computing cost function associated with the task; and updating the set of parameters of the machine learning model based on the one or more first values and the one or more second values.

  • Patent number: 11945045
Abstract: A thermal processing apparatus and method in which a first laser source, for example, a CO2 emitting at 10.6 ?m is focused onto a silicon wafer as a line beam and a second laser source, for example, a GaAs laser bar emitting at 808 nm is focused onto the wafer as a larger beam surrounding the line beam. The two beams are scanned in synchronism in the direction of the narrow dimension of the line beam to create a narrow heating pulse from the line beam when activated by the larger beam. The energy of GaAs radiation is greater than the silicon bandgap energy and creates free carriers. The energy of the CO2 radiation is less than the silicon bandgap energy so silicon is otherwise transparent to it, but the long wavelength radiation is absorbed by the free carriers.

  • Patent number: 11946284
Abstract: A door lock includes a latch driving device having a thumb turn that can be switched between a locking position not permitting movement of a latch to an unlatching position when an outer handle is pivoted and an unlocking position permitting movement of the latch to unlatching position when the outer handle is pivoted. The thumb turn includes an actuator controlling a switch to a conductive state or a non-conductive state. When the thumb turn is in the locking position, the switch is in the conductive state, and a lighting element controlled by the switch generates light transmitting through the first lid. When the thumb turn is in the unlocking position, the switch is in the non-conductive state, and the lighting element does not generate light. Thus, the locking or unlocking state of the door lock can be identified by sight.

  • Publication number: 20240071634
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing acute incident risks for dementia patients are provided. Benefits of the systems and methods include reducing healthcare costs, improving patient and caregiver outcomes and reducing caregiver burden. A server system analyzes data related to a dementia patient and the corresponding caregivers (e.g., family member, paid caregiver, physician) and calculates an acute incident risk. Based on the acute incident risk, the server system determines patient therapies to reduce the acute incident risk and also identifies caregiver education to improve the caregiver belief state, which reduces the acute incident risk. The system periodically re-calculates the acute incident risk and identifies patient therapies and caregiver education and motivation to further reduce or maintain the acute incident risk.

  • Publication number: 20030201837
Abstract: A modulating module includes a modulator unit having a harmonically distorted modulator output adapted to be modulated by an input signal and containing a fundamental frequency component and harmonic frequency components, a power amplifier connected to the modulator unit, and a filter unit connected to the power amplifier for filtering the modulator output so as to permit only one predetermined harmonic frequency component to pass therethrough. In addition, a mixer device of a frequency shifting module includes a mixer unit adapted to receive an input signal with an input frequency, and a local oscillator connected to the mixer unit for generating an oscillator output with a local frequency. The mixer device mixes the input signal with a predetermined harmonic order of the oscillator output to result in an output signal with an intermediate frequency.
