  • Publication number: 20170177224
Abstract: Techniques are provided for efficiently managing multi-tier storage systems with multiple types of storage class tiers encompassed in a single tiered range volume. In an embodiment, a storage manager creates a first virtual volume, where the storage manager exposes to a first tiered range volume client a first virtual address range for the first virtual volume that represents logical addresses of data blocks within storage portions from at least two storage class tiers of a set of multiple storage class tiers. Each storage portion represents an allocated range from a storage class tier. A storage class tier represents a set of multiple storage devices.

  • Patent number: 5295608
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a carton for storing, dispensing, and displaying adhesives, caulks, sealants, and other articles in tube form. The carton has two apertures, an upper aperture and a lower aperture. The upper aperture is used for loading the articles into the carton. The lower aperture opens into a trough into which the articles are dispensed and displayed. The bottom wall of the carton is inclined causing the articles stored therein to roll towards the lower aperture and be dispensed into a trough. The carton does not use an internal shelf or other channel which would require space that would otherwise be useful for the storage of articles to be dispensed. The carton uses a trough notch to allow easy removal of the articles from the trough. Preferably, the carton has a notch in the lower portion of the front wall to allow easy access to the articles to be dispensed in order to free jammed or otherwise displaced articles.

The carton also preferably has correspondingly positioned holes in the top, bottom, and side walls for receipt of a fastener means such that a series of two or more cartons may be securely affixed side by side.

  • Patent number: 4903218
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for emulating a console at a graphics workstation terminal uses a second central processing unit to perform the console emulation. A windowing system operating on a first central processing unit interfaces with the operation of the console from the second central processing unit to provide non-destructive console emulation at the workstation terminal. The windowing system maintains a separate console window that the second central processing unit can access transparently to the other windows. The first or host cpu can still perform graphics functions while the second cpu operates the console.
