  • Patent number: 11937822
Abstract: A device for creating a fistula between blood vessels operates in conjunction with a guidewire to locate and position itself so that it straddles both vessels and is able to draw them together. A fixing agent is released either from within the device or from an external needle, or both, into the procedural site. The fixing agent functions to hold the relative position of the two vessels, to seal the surrounding tissue so that any leaks that do occur don't spread into the tissue to create a hematoma, and to limit expansion of the fistula. After the vessels are in close proximity to each other and the fixing agent is applied, the device of the invention employs a cutting mechanism which opens a portal between the two vessels.

  • Patent number: 8398855
Abstract: A waste treatment process comprised of an ammonification system to convert soluble organic nitrogen into ammonia nitrogen, followed by a physico-chemical process to remove a substantial amount of the ammonia as a recovered ammonium sulfate fertilizer or ammonium hydroxide (“aqua ammonia”), and followed by an ammonia oxidation process to oxidize the remaining ammonia from the physico-chemical process. The process reduces ammonia and carbonaceous organic matter to less than 10 mg/l and recovers ammonia in the form of either ammonium sulfate or ammonium hydroxide.

  • Publication number: 20080258430
Abstract: A hitch connection for connecting a lead or “A” trailer to a “B” trailer is disclosed. The hitch connection comprises a female sub-assembly which fits inside the chassis of the “A” trailer at the rear of that trailer. A male sub-assembly which includes a turnplate supported on a chassis includes a tapered prong which locates in the female assembly and is held inside with locking pins. The prong includes a transverse pivot which extends parallel to the axle to allow the prong to pivot relative to the chassis The “B” trailer may be readily separated from the “A” trailer by removal of the locking pins to allow removal of the prong from the female sub-assembly thus allowing unfettered access to the rear of the “A” trailer.

  • Patent number: 6304676
Abstract: System and method using a competitive process to create an optimized set of variable length bit codes to encode one, two or three dimensional data and a high speed redundant lookup table for decoding the resulting representation in real time. The encoding phase consists of multiple passes through the unencoded data to determine the overall best code set for the given data. The primitives used to encode the data may be any mix of operations that captures the redundancy of the raw data. For graphic applications, specific colors and patterns copied from previously occurring data yield sufficiently high compression ratios, but any likely candidates for high frequency occurrence may be added to the mix. The encoding algorithm will ignore any non-optimal operations and assign them no space in the code set.
