  • Patent number: 10539068
Abstract: Provided is an exhaust porting apparatus (10) for a turbocharged internal combustion engine (4) which includes a turbocharger (6) that is conventionally arranged in fluid communication with the exhaust (8), the turbo in turn facilitating forced air induction back into the engine via air intake (5). The apparatus (10) comprises a housing (12) that defines an inlet port (14) and an outlet port (16). The apparatus (10) also includes a valve member 18 which is arranged within the housing (12). The valve member (18) is generally displaceable between a high-velocity gas inlet position, wherein the valve member (18) allows unobstructed fluid flow between the inlet and outlet ports (14) and (16), and a low-velocity gas inlet position, wherein the valve member (18) obstructs fluid flow through the outlet port 16 whilst allowing unobstructed fluid flow into the inlet port (14).

  • Patent number: 9646316
Abstract: Techniques for universal promotion conditions for offer evaluations are provided. Promotions are comprised of promotion conditions. The conditions are defined as a key value, description, and data type. Defined operators for the data types are enumerated and the key values can be mixed and matched in custom defined conditional statements to expand promotional engines with universal promotion conditions.

  • Patent number: 9021363
Abstract: Systems and techniques for centralized user preference management for electronic decision making devices are provided. A user preference profile is received. A user preference profile manager may transmit a user preference from the user preference profile to a requesting user transaction terminal. the user preference manager may also receive a dynamic user preference from a user preference profile and extend the user preference profile with the dynamic user preference, where the dynamic user preference includes a preference definition and the preference definition includes read and write access controls for the dynamic user preference. Then the user manager may update the user preference profile based on data received from the user transaction terminal.

  • Patent number: 7904336
Abstract: A system and a method whereby e-mail users may send e-mail messages appended with advertising. E-mail sent from the e-mail user's e-mail account is routed through a standard email delivery system. The e-mail message is further processed by a software means which appends thereto another software means operable to cause an advertisement to appear when the e-mail message is opened by the e-mail recipient. In one embodiment, a portion of the revenue generated by the advertising may be distributed to a charitable organization. The e-mail user sending the e-mail message may designate a charitable organization to receive such contributions. The present invention may be used with any e-mail technology.

  • Patent number: 7401147
Abstract: A method and system in an application service provider (“ASP”) system for regulating the dispatching of event notification messages that generate return contacts. The ASP system is connected to various requestor systems and receives from those systems requests to send messages to designated recipients. The ASP system dispatches the messages by retrieving the requests from the request store, generating messages for the requests, and sending the generated messages at a requestor-specific message dispatch rate. The ASP system dynamically adjusts the message dispatch rate for a requestor in real time to help ensure that the requestor is not overwhelmed with return contacts.
