  • Patent number: 9942187
Abstract: A system and method to provide a message handling system (eg email) user an alert when one or more messages remain in the outbox of the message handling system after the message transmission process has completed more than a user definable number of times or has been in the outbox longer than a user definable amount of time. Once alerted the user will have the option to take one or more actions (independent of the system and method) to remove the message or messages from the outbox.

  • Publication number: 20160308814
Abstract: A system that alerts a sender of an email message as to the addressees of the email, when the email is determined to be sensitive, such as when it includes a word such a “confidential”. The user can allow the message to be sent or go back to a mail create/edit operation where the message or list of addresses can be revised. Trigger words can be stored in a table or database. The system also detects sensitive words in attachments. The sensitive words detected and their locations can be shown in a pop-up message.

  • Publication number: 20160269332
Abstract: A system and method provide an alert when identifying destination data designated for a recipient of a message meets a predefined condition and prompt a sender of the message for an input regarding the destination data when determining that the destination data meets the predefined condition. The sender is enabled to approve or disapprove the sending of the message using the destination data or revise the same. The destination data may be all or part of an address of the recipient previously identified and stored by the sender or a system.

  • Patent number: 9270251
Abstract: A carrier for mounting a piezoelectric device, e.g., a surface acoustic wave (SAW) device, on a circuit board and a method of mounting a piezoelectric device on a circuit board using such a carrier are disclosed. The carrier includes a carrier bottom, a plurality of metal contacts, and a carrier lid attached to the carrier bottom. The carrier bottom has an opening extending partially through the carrier bottom from a top surface thereof and the opening is configured such that when a piezoelectric device to be mounted in the carrier is inserted into the carrier bottom, the piezoelectric device is at least partially recessed within the carrier bottom. The metal contacts include a cantilevered end configured for electrical connection to a piezoelectric device. The carrier lid is configured to retain a piezoelectric device within the carrier bottom and to apply substantially even pressure across a top surface of a piezoelectric device.

  • Publication number: 20110276448
Abstract: An invention is described that enables a vehicle's electrical energy storage devices to charge in parking areas in which components of this invention are installed. The amount of energy consumed, combined with the amount charged are the components of a transaction. An embodiment allows the vehicle owner to have the cost of the energy consumed charged to his home electric bill. Another embodiment allows the vehicle owner to have the cost of the energy consumed charged to his home electric bill by recording his personal identification number at a kiosk or other input device co-locate at the parking area.

  • Patent number: 7792907
Abstract: A system that monitors for an initiation of the sending of an electronic message. The user is alerted or warned that the message is about to be sent. The alert includes a list of the addressees of the message. The list includes addressee aliases where available. The sender can then verify that the addressees are correct and change or delete those on the list, or erase the message. The system also provides such an alert when a computer initiates the sending of an unauthorized message and allows the user to delete the unauthorized message.

  • Publication number: 20100007791
Abstract: A system is disclosed that enhances television viewing by providing users the ability to selectively blank a portion of their screen. Broadcasters today often dedicate some percentage of display “real estate” to push additional content (e.g., scores from other games, regional weather forecasts, etc.) via a virtual “ticker tape”. More often than not, the average viewer will find the ticker tape a distraction if not an annoyance after a short period of time. The embodiments discussed herein allow the viewer a means by which to blank that portion of the screen. The user moves a cursor to designate a portion of the screen to be blanked.
