Abstract: A distal extremity cast cover comprising a sleeve or gaiter portion which may be non-abrasive and which extends distally substantially to the edge of the cast, and a distal extremity covering which overlaps the sleeve or gaiter to a point proximal the wrist or ankle and which may comprise an insulating or water-repellent material. The parts of the cover may be secured by elastic and frictional properties of the materials and/or by elastic bands or pull cords proximate the openings.
