  • Patent number: 9672572
Abstract: Techniques of implementing providing real-time availability of omni-channel sales data are disclosed. In some example embodiments, purchase information comprising information of purchases made by a consumer via a plurality of retail channels is received by a back-end system. The purchase information can be stored on the back-end system. A request to access the stored purchase information can be received from the consumer on a computing device. The request can comprise an identification of a virtual host and an identification of a service to invoke on the back-end system to retrieve the purchase information stored on the back-end system. An identification of an internal host can be determined based on the identification of the virtual host. The identification of the internal host can identify the back-end system. The purchase information can be retrieved from the back-end system using the identification of the internal host and the identification of the service.

  • Patent number: 8858734
Abstract: A method of superfinishing a large hollow wheel gear in a vibratory bowl having a center hub comprises at least partially filling the vibratory bowl with an amount of finishing media, laying the gear horizontally into the bowl over the center hub, supplying a quantity of an active chemistry into the bowl and agitating the vibratory bowl at a frequency such that the gear settles into and is fully supported by the media. By controlling the process parameters, the hollow wheel gear may be caused to rotate in the media and can be made to float at a desired level. The method is particularly suitable for hollow wheel gears for large wind turbines.

  • Patent number: 8171637
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a new improved large planetary gear system used on the input stage of wind turbine power generators. This improved planetary gear system reduces or eliminates lubricant debris traditionally generated from the gear teeth, thereby eliminating an initiating source for bearing failure. To achieve these results, some and preferably all of the gear teeth within the planetary gear system are superfinished using chemically accelerated vibratory finishing to a surface roughness of approximately 0.25 micron or less. Several objects and advantages of the invention are to provide a gearbox with reduced metal debris, improved bearing life, reduced wear, reduced vibro-frictional noise, improved contact fatigue, improved fretting resistance, improved lubrication, to simplify the run-in process, and to enhance the durability and efficiency of the gearbox.

  • Publication number: 20070197308
Abstract: A putter training apparatus and method of use are provided. In one form, a putter training apparatus includes a putter head generally formed as a mallet attached to a standard golf shaft. The putter head includes an opening through the vertical distance of the putter head, generally centered in the putter head. The putter head further includes a standard golf ball, generally centered within the opening. The golf ball is attached to an extension and retraction system comprising two spherical seats inserted in the heel side and toe side of the opening and two ligaments connecting the spherical seats to the golf ball. The extension and retraction system allows the golf ball to extend from the opening during use, and remain visible to the user through the opening, as long as the user employs a smooth, in line, and in tempo putting stroke.

  • Publication number: 20050164610
Abstract: The invention described herein discloses a chemical mechanical machining and surface finishing process. A conversion coating is formed on the surface of a workpiece and is removed via relative motion with a tool, thereby exposing the workpiece to further reaction with the active chemistry. Low mechanical forces are used such that the plastic deformation, shear strength, tensile strength and/or thermal degradation temperature of the workpiece are not exceeded. Since the chemical mechanical machining and surface finishing process requires little force and/or speed of contact to remove the conversion coating, the equipment's mass, complexity and cost can be significantly reduced, while simultaneously increasing machining precision and accuracy. The present invention lends itself to a very controlled rate of metal removal, and can simply surface finish the workpiece, or if desired, can surface finish the workpiece simultaneously with the shaping and/or sizing process.

  • Patent number: 4705594
Abstract: A composition for use in the mass finishing of metal surfaces of objects, normally in a vibratory finishing process, utilizes the combination of oxalic acid, sodium nitrate, and hydrogen peroxide. The maximum concentration of the latter is limited to a value at which excessive dissolution of metal and pitting of the surface are avoided while, at the same time, cooperating with the nitrate to effect a substantial increase in the processing rate. Highly refined surfaces are achieved with the process in relatively short periods of time.
