Patent number: 10812605Abstract: Method, and corresponding system, for establishing data communications with, and instructing, industrial machines in multiple locations. The method includes generating, using a first application, one or more machine communication messages. Each machine communication message contains data produced by one of a plurality of machines located at a first location. An instance of the first application runs on a processor of each of the plurality of machines. The method further includes sending the machine communication messages to a first message queue via a local area network. The method further includes retrieving, using a first server at a remote location connected via a network, the machine communication messages from the first message queue; and extracting from the messages, at the remote location, the data produced by the plurality of machines. The sending of the machine communication messages and the retrieving of the machine communication messages are done asynchronously.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2017Date of Patent: October 20, 2020Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Vrinda Rajiv, Mark Mitchell Kornfein, Christina Ann Leber

Patent number: 7154399Abstract: A system and method for monitoring whether a resident is away from home or inactive within the home. A sensor, which includes a transmitter, a processor, a timer, and a detector, watches for motion to occur within a home. Upon sensing motion, the sensor sends a first signal indicative of the motion if the timer is not currently running and waits for the motion to end. If the timer already is running, the timer is restarted at zero. Upon expiration of a predetermined timing period, the sensor transmits a second signal indicative of inactivity. By comparing the timing of the second signal and the predetermined timing period, with a third signal sent by an exterior door sensor, a determination can be made whether the resident has left the home or is inactive within the home. The system includes a database, a CPU and State Model for determining the activity state of a home.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2004Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Paul Edward Cuddihy, Meena Ganesh, Jenny Marie Weisenberg, Catherine Mary Graichen, Vrinda Rajiv, Mark Mitchell Kornfein

Patent number: 6745195Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for generating software cards that summarize and index information. A documentation storage unit stores a variety of documentation. A software card generator generates each of the software cards for a predetermined card category. Each software card points to blocks of information stored in the documentation storage unit that relate to the predetermined card category. A software card database stores the generated plurality of software cards. A user can search the software cards in order to quickly and easily access documentation and materials specific to their specific area of interest.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2000Date of Patent: June 1, 2004Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Mark Mitchell Kornfein, Rasiklal Punjalal Shah, Russell Robert Irving, Mark Kathleen Parini
