    Abstract: Various systems and methods for implementing a software defined industrial system are described herein. For example, an orchestrated system of distributed nodes may run an application, including modules implemented on the distributed nodes. In response to a node failing, a module may be redeployed to a replacement node. In an example, self-descriptive control applications and software modules are provided in the context of orchestratable distributed systems. The self-descriptive control applications may be executed by an orchestrator or like control device and use a module manifest to generate a control system application. For example, an edge control node of the industrial system may include a system on a chip including a microcontroller (MCU) to convert IO data. The system on a chip includes a central processing unit (CPU) in an initial inactive state, which may be changed to an activated state in response an activation signal.

    Abstract: A method and a computing apparatus for initiating a user account are provided. The method includes: receiving, from a user, a request to initiate the user account; receiving, from a first entity that has previously conducted transactions that relate to the user account, information that relates to the previously conducted transactions; using the received information to transfer at least one asset into the user account; and performing, in conjunction with a second entity that administers information that relates to the user account, a reconciliation based on a result of the transfer of the at least one asset. The assets of the user account may include any of market-tradable equities, bonds, tax positions, derivatives, futures, accrued incomes, and/or unsettled potential transactions.

    Abstract: A method of decontaminating an object removed from a nuclear power plant utilizing a decontamination system is disclosed. The decontamination system includes a platform, an imaging system, a robotic arm including an end effector configured to discharge a decontamination medium, and a control system operably coupled to the imaging system and the robotic arm. The method includes placing the object on the platform, scanning, by the imaging system, the object, generating, by the control system, a three-dimensional model of the object based on the scanned object, planning, by the control system, a decontamination path based on the generated three-dimensional model, controlling, by the control system, a position of the robotic arm according to the planned decontamination path, and discharging, by the end effector, the decontamination medium onto the object at a plurality of positions along the planned decontamination path.
