    Abstract: The invention relates to biodegradable bilayer sealants for tissue closure. The sealants of the invention are composed of two layers with different compliances. The layer in immediate contact with the tissue has high compliance. The second layer located immediately above the first sealant layer has low compliance, i.e. the sealant is much stiffer. The burst pressure of the bilayer sealants is enhanced relative to either a single layer elastic sealant or a single layer stiff sealant. The improved sealant compositions herein provide a water-tight seal, can access hard to reach tears, be applied in a dry or wet environment, are low-swelling, and can repair a range of incision or tear sizes. The bilayer sealants are particularly useful for sutureless dural closure or as adjuncts to sutured dural closure. Also provided herein are methods of preparing and using the biodegradable sealant compositions.

    Abstract: A lift vehicle includes a chassis, an implement, a lift arm coupling the implement to the chassis, a load sensor, a tilt sensor, and a controller. The lift arm includes an actuator configured to selectively extend the lift arm and a length sensor configured to provide data relating to a length of the lift arm. The load sensor can provide data relating to a load at the implement. The tilt sensor can provide data relating to an angular orientation of the chassis relative to a reference plane. The controller can receive data from the length sensor, the load sensor, and the tilt sensor. The controller can determine, based on the data from the load sensor and the tilt sensor, an operating envelope for the lift arm. The operating envelope can include a maximum extension of the lift arm. The controller can selectively limit an operation of the lift arm such that the lift arm operates within the operating envelope.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a boat plug key system for storing, installing, and removing a boat plug consist of a canister, a canister lid, and a boat plug. The use of a boat plug key system of the present invention reduces the probability of forgetting to install the boat plug when launching the boat or removing the boat plug when taking the boat out of the water and thereby reducing the probability of damage to the boat. The present invention also serves as a key corresponding to a key slot on the boat plug enabling the installation and removal of the boat plug. Additionally, a boat plug key system embodiment of the present invention acts as a key chain and a float creating greater convenience.
